I know Jankowski has been meh. But i wonder how much of his game has been a result of knowing Neal will always be the last man back. Hard for the centre to drive play when his linemates have no pace. Also hard to be aggressive knowing Neal cant stop the opposing forwards if the play goes the other way.
Janko has also been a serious contributor to the Flames PK.
Saying that I was really hopeful that dube would draw in. Not sure for who tho.
I can kind of see how Peters is in a difficult position because his team had 50 wins and had the second best regular season in their history. It makes sense that he would want to stick to the process and give time for things work out. But he also has to recognize the process has been in shambles the last 3 games and should have adjusted sooner. If he scratched neal last game maybe we would have seen dube come in for jankowski this game.
Anyway, we will see how Jankowski looks with 2 industrious wingers. If he still can't outplay the nietos and wilsons of the world...

Definitely a big moment for him. Honestly if he is avg or below in his matchups his future may be a 4th line centre. And that may or may not be with the Flames.
I'm still bitter about the 94 playoffs when we were up 3-1. Next 3 games all went into overtime and we lost them all. Hopefully we can do the same thing the Canucks did to us. And this time Johnny wins it in game 7 overtime on a breakaway. Just like Bure did. GO FLAMES!
Funny, I thought the Flames had blown a few 3-1 series leads, but looking back and researching, turns out that Vancouver one was the only one.
Have the Flames ever come back from one?
I guess now's the best time, right?
I have no reason to believe in this team. They have been thoroughly outplayed, but as die hard fan, you always have a little bit of hope.

Good decisions all around. Hope its not too late but I would love to see these guys stage a comeback. Win this series and there is nothing they can't do.
Your comment about the 3M line isn't really true. They have been able to keep their head above water.
Backlund and Tkachuk were on ice for every goal against in game two. Their inability to hold their heads above water in that game is one of the biggest reasons we're down 3-1 instead of tied 2-2.
In fact, Backlunds been a minus player in every game, and is yet to score a point 5v5. If you absolutely must single out a guy who has most obviously failed at holding his own in this series, it's Backlund. Not because he's been the worst, but because he's been most obviously overwhelmed.
Despite all the criticism, Monahan is actually tied 5v5, and with his powerplay points is one of the few forwards who has been on ice for more goals for than against. (That list goes Monahan, Bennett and Mangiapane-Ryan-Hathaway.)

I like the lineup changes. Hopefully not too little too late but the combinations seem promising.
