My vote is on Sam Bennett, who I thought was our best forward outside of Monahan in the series against Anaheim two years ago, and our 4-5th best forward in 2015 where he was a rookie.
Plus, he's probably chomping twice as hard to make a return after getting so little game action in the last few weeks of the season.

If we're leading in the 3rd period Hamonic will be our most important skater.

Michael Frolik will always have a special place in Blackhawk fans' hearts...it was his play that set up the GWG of the famous "17 seconds" that took the Blackhawks from needing a game 7 with Boston to the 2nd SC of the run. The guy has seen the pressure of, not only, the playoffs, but, of desperation time, chasing games in the playoffs. That experience cannot be discounted.

I’ll go with TJ Brodie.

The fact that we have so many names to choose from just shows the depth of this team.
I want to say that Brodie is going to pick it up again. I really want to see 14/15 Brodie rise to the occasion like he did the year that we weren't supposed to go far in the playoffs.
But, as others have mentioned, I want Smith to really show why we acquired him. His 2012 season was carrying the Coyotes on his back to the WCF's, without any offensive star power.
I don't really think that there will just be one player carrying the load like we've seen in the playoff runs in this decade, this will be a team effort. I am confident we can get far.

The Hathaway-Ryan-Mangiapane line will be huge, because right now, they are the best 4th line in the league, and it will be difficult for any other team to match up against them. This will pay dividends both because they will out-possess and outscore any other 4th line, and because rolling 4 lines will keep the other lines fresher. This advantage will increase the deeper they get into the playoffs, especially against top-heavy teams.
Depth will be a huge key, and I see at least eight or nine D seeing some action through the playoffs.
With two goaltenders playing fairly evenly since the all-star break, keeping opposition teams guessing about who will start may also give the Flames an advantage by forcing them to game plan for both.
Bennett will provide spark and energy and will pick the team up when it hits a bit of an emotional lull, frustration, or adversity.
Rittich will keep the team loose.
But all of these will be given the credit they deserve. So the real unsung hero will be James Neal, who will show the young, inexperienced kids what it means to be in the playoffs, and how to deal with the increased distractions, intensity, and stress. He will teach them how incredibly hollow it is to fall just short of the final goal, and in doing so, he may help them to avoid the obligatory "learn to lose before you can learn how to win" phase. And in so doing, if the Flames win the Cup, especially if he does not show up on the score sheet, the true UNSUNG playoff hero will be James Neal.
