Interested to see if the Jets look rusty or not...

Also, hey, a full day of hockey. Good stuff.

PS, how are the Lighting / Panthers on now? It was supposed to be 12 eastern?

EDIT: Don't think it's started yet, I don't see it at least.

Still think its lame and a huge miss for the NHL to segregate broadcasting like this. I would gladly watch all these other American games. As usual, comes down to one thing....money.

My bad. The NHL website schedule had the score as 0-0 when I was pulling time off, so figured it had started. It has started now, I guess.

Point is so good... sigh.

2-0 Tampa and Point has both.

Carolina is my darkhorse pick this year. If they get goaltending that is a very deep club.

Man, only 6 years and $60 million left on that Bobrovsky contract.

So don't think it was fully hindsight at all.

Watching the Wild/Avs. I see Minnesota scored on the power play using a "one timer"

Unsure if Geoff Ward is familiar with this but considering the Wild just flat out used it where we could all see it, I hope he steals this idea for the Flames.

Lightning look good. I'm going to go out on a limb and say they don't get swept in the first round again this year.

They talked about this in the Leafs broadcast, and said that teams are moving more and more away from the one-timer from the point because of how frequently ineffective it is. It would be interesting to see the numbers on this.

This was from the hash marks, though the same discussion could be had. I'd be curious too. Just looked so smooth and efficient. Quick passes, open the goalie up, fire it home. Flames have the personnel to do this quite well.

The entire league passed on him twice...where he is from is irrelevant. Nobody knew he would be this good or he wouldn't have went 79th

On Twitter, I saw "Luke Schenn" trending. My first thought was, why is a guy who retired years ago trending right now?

To my shock, he's trending because he scored a goal in the Tampa-Florida game --- AHA! says I, he's playing for the Panthers, just like every washed-up player who should have retired 3 years earlier.

Nope, apparently he's with the Lightning.

WHAT A COUNTRY!!!
