Midfield battle was crazy. Fun race, although not as fun as last week. Wish it was still raining though

Geez Perez had to wreck his wing and swap spots with Norris and get them opposite my picks on the final turn.

Stroll with the great last lap pass. And then Norris with a better one.

Stroll was always going to be a sitting duck after destroying his tires following Ricciardo for so damn long. That was some great defending. A good midfield battle with that group of cars - makes up for the lack of drama at the front.

Got 1 through 4 and 6 on the money.
8/10 Top 10 isn't bad at all. I had initially got Stroll finishing behind Perez, but changed it since I thought it was just my Canadian bias influencing it. Should have gone with my gut there. Though I guess it depends on the decision on the protest.

So here are the standings after 2 races...I see Agulati has pumped his own tires so need for me to do it But great job...5/10 in right slots and you're now in 1st, 1pt ahead of Arsenal14.
The Renault protest could have an impact so these are subject to change! A few people had Perez, Stroll, Ricciard, and Sainz slotted in correctly...so for me I hope those brake ducts are right off the 2019 Mercs!!!
Mercedes was utterly dominant today. Verstappen never got a sniff but I think out drove his car. He was soooo much faster than Albon. Too bad about Perez losing his front wing though, because despite being a 2019 Pink Merc, he was the driver of the day for me.
Some great midfield battles with Ricciardo and Stroll as well.
And I told y'all Vettel was gonna go out...didnt think it would be T3, Lap 1, and having Leclerc drive over his right rear.

Ocon probably cost Ricciardo 3s by battling him so hard when he was clearly faster, likely more when you account for the extra wear being in the dirty air.

In looking at this article and pictures on the similarities it looks to be more than just copying a philosophy. I mean they're using aluminium tape in the same freaking way, theres small winglets and internal vertical vanes that are the same.

That leaves Vettel out or in an Alpha Tauri or a Haas.

You think that would happen, even though Lawrence Stroll is a part owner of Racing Point?

More of a could, but its just a guess for the 2022 lineup. IIRC his dads interest is quite a bit less in the racing team now that he took a big stake in Aston Martin (basically 100% with RP to 17% with Aston). He obviously runs the show, but it could be a matter of now wanting Aston to be top dog to line his pockets. I also think there is WAYYYYY more marketing and sponsorship money available from what Russell can bring in vs. Stroll, especially having a Brit drive an Aston Martin badged car. Plus Russell is 100x the driver.
Perez isnt going anywhere IMO since he saved that team and has MEGA $$ behind him from the Mexican phone companies.

Russell in the Aston would be pretty cool too now that they seem to be getting their #### together. Obviously not as good as seeing him in Mercedes but better than sticking totally in the backfield
