To San Jose:
Jake McCabe
Artem Anisimov
To Carolina:
Lucas Wallmark
Tucker Poolman
A deal the Canes had to make, McCabe found himself in the doghouse and at his cap hit we weren't willing to sit around and wait for him to figure it out. A move in hopes that allows the Hurricanes to make other moves more easily.
Now the Canes have to go acquire a replacement for McCabe. Hope he fits ion better with the Sharks for Dave than he did in Carolina

Pressure is reduced for him in sunny San Jose where he will slide into Poolman’s spot in the 3rd pairing.

To Nashville : Eric Haula
To Los Angeles : Marcus Foligno and 2021 4th round pick
Haula was making the rest of the team look bad, with his lofty 70+ offensive ratings. I bring in another defensive grinder. I would hate to be a fan of this team with seasons tickets. I'm getting tired just thinking of watching a full LA Kings game. The Kings make peak left-wing lock Jersey look like a mid 80s All-star team.

The Sim really hates poor Haula. I couldn't get him going at all, and eventually and seriously a guy with a 70+ offensive rating lost his spot and was doomed to the press box.

Erik Karlsson
Karlsson did nothing for me, lost every game he was on the roster and then he spent a month on IR. Addition by subtraction, so we sent him to the Habs to play with McD.

2021 2nd
With the return of Colton Sission from IR the Carolina Hurricanes needed to move out an extra body. The Canes had the choice of picking Mysak or Tyson Foerster in the past draft, we went with Foerster and Mysak was selected 4 picks later by Minnesota Wild.
If we made this trade on draft day I would have been giving up almost 3 2nds for Mysak

We will fix the Pysyk!
I needed some more size on the back end with Savard going down. A little too thin for my liking. Hunt is a good journeyman player and was a positive and stabilizing force on the third pair, he will be missed.

To Edmonton: Jakob Silfverberg, 1.25 mil
To Nashville: Zach Parise, Gianni Fairbrother
I wasn’t opposed to keeping Parise but I was too strong on the LW with the addition of Hagelin and wanted someone to play in the top 9 who has the ability to play RW. Silfverberg checks those boxes and is a good two way player. This will be his 3rd stint with the Oilers where he has produced well before, third times the charm! Gonna miss Parises leadership and experience but he wasn’t a huge producer for us, even with PP1 minutes

To Nashville : Evgenii "Dad Bod" Dadonov, "Orange" Julius Honka and 2021 4th
To LA : Vlad "Don't touch Me" Tarasenko
A bit of a gamble here. Tarasenko has gone through three shoulder surgeries in two years. Although he is saying all of the right things and feels that the problem is solved, he missed almost all of last year and won't play until March at the earliest this year. I'm keeping next year in mind, so the gamble is that he comes back and can play at a decent level, fitting into a top six role in 2022.
I couldn't get Dadonov to fit in with all of my defensive players. Discovered a little late that with someone feeding him the puck, he's money, but all of my players think that the puck is a live grenade.
I wanted to see what Honka could become, but now it will be from a distance.
