I went Kylington. I was really impressed with him, especially early in his stint with the big club. Confident with the puck, great skater, and played a more 'controlled' game than had been advertised.
If he can continue progressing, while limiting the gaffes, he could be an extremely valuable asset to the organization. He could hopefully become the next TJ Brodie here, hopefully even better!

I think this has to be Kylington. He is as close to NHL ready as any other prospect on the list (including, I think, Dube) and he has the highest ceiling of any other prospect on the list (still being, I think, a first pairing defenceman). So, easy choice for me.

Kylington for me. I don't get the love for Dube. In my mind Dube will top out as a second line winger if all the stars align. Kylington has top pairing upside.

Dube because of his very high floor for a prospect. He’s pretty much an NHL ready player at 20. Kylington next though for similar reasons, what a good call it was getting 5 years of AHL development for a D prospect

I was torn between Dube and Kylington, went with Dube. In a weird way if we didn't have Valimaki I probably would have voted Kylington... I just think Valimaki's a fair bit better than Kylington which maybe skews my view too much on how good they both are. Meh, toss-up, I think it's agreed upon they're #2 & 3.

I really liked Dube's game in last year's preseason, but his stint in the NHL really left it unclear as to where he is today and where is potential could be.
I think he's got all the tools and is going to be an NHLer as early as this year. However, is he going to be a bottom 6 high motor winger, or does he have the offensive upside to contribute in the middle 6?
I think Kylington is the better player today, and also has a higher upside, as I see definite top 4 potential.

Taking a while to get to 5000

My only big concern for Dube is his situational awareness.
Keep that head up, and work on your board play.

I think people are reading too much into Dube's NHL time. He's pretty young. His AHL numbers are off the charts in age comparables, and his quick adjustment and then numbers suggest he went down and figured it out.
Can only help for this season at the NHL level.

I’m surprised it’s not a landslide for the Swede... I love Dube, too, though... he’s the clear #3 for me.

I put Kylington ahead of Dube, only because he looked better in the NHL regular season. Dube was a pretty season star but big drop off in regular season.
But I’m voting Pelletier. Lots of different criteria you can use, but if forced into a trade he should get you a late 1st. While Dube and Kylington have likely improved their stock, I don’t believe either net you a first in return. That’s how I’ve tried to look at it, maybe because I don’t ever watch the non NHL guys play.

I get your logic, interesting angle. Though, there’s very little chance Pelletier returns a first. Draft picks lose value the moment they’re picked. He’s worth a 2nd now, I bet.

In my mind, Kylington is both closer to being a regular NHLer and his ceiling is higher than Dube.
Easy #2 for me.

Well that’s a good point. Like a new car. Would really need someone just behind you in the last draft who really wanted the guy.

One guy was playing his first season of professional hockey.
The other guy was in his 4th.

I think Kylington, but he's not clearly above Dube. More like a 2A 2B thing.
I'm pretty excited to see what both can do with a little more opportunity.

I agree, lots of people seem to be expecting the moon from Dube as a rookie. Like someone said before, if we didn't already have Valimaki and Andersson, I probably would have went with Kylington at #2 but something about having those two already lowers my excitement about him a bit.
But those AHL numbers for Dube in his first pro season definitely have me excited about what he could one day do in the NHL I think he is going to be a great player for us, and I think we see him take off in the NHL this year after a decent but slow start. (much like Mangiapane last year)

...but he’s only 1 year older... for me, that lends further argument toward the Swede.

I think Kylington would easily return a late 1st round pick.

Yep that’s a factor. So is their one year age difference and fact that Kylington plays a harder position.
