Hung out with Owen Nolan & Marty McSorley Friday night, chugging beers LOL, and then McSorley remembered them (kid & GF) from the night before and sat and had breakfast with them Saturday morning. He said they were very well taken care of, got some nice swag, got to do a couple of interesting things during some of their free time, and utterly enjoyed every facet of the weekend. He said the only bad bit was landing in YYC last night, he's never flown commercially before (just little puddle jumpers up till now) and the sideways approach made him a bit nervous, haha. All in all, a great weekend for him and after the last 18 months he's had, I'm really glad this happened for him and that it was such a good experience - some great memories for the rest of his life.

Much as screen rant content is generally terrible, I just discovered these things today and can't stop watching them. Which is a problem since there are over 100 of them.

This might be a random thought territory, but we had an electric can opener while we were growing up. I wonder if there has been some change in can technology that has rendered these unnecessary or if electric can openers were always about laziness? I can't imagine using up counter space or pulling one out of the pantry just to open a can. Or else you have to be opening a lot of cans on a regular basis to justify one.

But yeah, it's good to find a can opener that you don't need to constantly reverse direction on with because the wheel didn't penetrate the lid.

Just happened to watch this sketch today, which is one of the best takes on pitch meetings.

Possibly only really funny if you're old enough to remember Gremlins?

Everytime I encounter one of those on a can I feel some small fear, "is today the day when the lid suddenly jerks up and slices my hand open?

That is the one I purchased recently and it has been so good. The old can opener was such a frustrating POS.

Just went from "okay this is real" to "holy sh_t its real" in a 10 minute conversation with the home nurse on Saturday. Clock starts now, cant wait to meet our gender unknown baby in 2 weeks time
Confirmed yesterday, either Thursday next week or Monday the 11th for induction. It's go time

My wife was induced for all 3 of our kids. Takes all the guess work out of things so that's nice.
We plan on having 1 more so we'll see if we ever have the IT'S TIME moment.

My wife was scheduled for induction, but things started happening the night before anyway. So we got a little bit of that "it's happening!", but it wasn't far enough along to go to the hospital, so showed up for the scheduled time and they just helped things along.

Good luck to all of you, and try to take in the memories. That day was a blur, but I still vividly remember a lot of moments, which is nice. Induction speeds things up, obviously.

My wife's water broke at home both times (which is apparently much less common than movies / TV make it seem, so that's cool. It's also much less dramatic).

Third is on the way, we'll see what happens this time.

Got the day off! Convinced my client that it was too cold to work today (Well, I had to drive 70kms to show them that none of my equipment would run properly anyway) so now instead of freezing my arse off in -37 weather and probably breaking something, I get to watch the Flames and the Superbowl instead and still get paid to do it!

Sometimes life is good

I was hiking with my wife when all of a sudden an eastern brown snake decides to cross the trail between us so here I am within a metre of the world’s 2nd most venomous snake in attack position. I am happy I’m still alive.
