Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but the 900 years in the future matches up to the future episode in Voyager, where the guy kept going forward to steal technology.
You would think the Temporal police in the future would be freaking out.
Unless they retcon the future and its grim and Michael becomes like Quantum leap going through time fixing mistakes until her last leap takes her home.

I didn’t quite get the impression from the interview.
The text snippets from the video, and even the URL itself, are kind of clickbait-ey, to be honest. I thought he sounded pretty happy about the series, except for the long shooting schedule, but that’s kind of expected for a series that has heavy wardrobe, makeup, set design demands.
Considering what a mess Discovery has been with regards to the showrunners, I would want some clarity on that as well before signing on to something long-term.
I hope they find some way to make it happen. Honestly, at this point I'm much more interested in watching a Pike's Enterprise series than season 3 of Discovery or the Section 31 show.

-Battle scene gave me a headache and wasn't enjoyable. Lots of firing going on with nothing actually to see. I don't think we saw one ship actually get destroyed
-Why go to the future if Control is toast? I suppose it's to safeguard the data from something else?
-I actually don't know which crew we're following next season? Obviously it's Discovery but... No preview at all with what is to come
-Time travel is the norm 900 years in the future and Starfleet seems to correct these 'incursions.' I guess that's all out the window
-Really enjoyed the last scene with Michael & Spock. Extremely well done. Unfortunate it wasn't realistic with all hell breaking loose around them
-Shields are gone but hey, let's cross a few wires & they're back up to 40%
Season 2 was way better than the first. Let's hope like in true Star Trek fashion, the series keeps getting better
I assume it is because the Enterprise crew doesn't know for sure that Control is toast with it's manifestation in Leland.
Is that not why they had to all pretend that Discovery, Burnam and the time suit were all destroyed?
Also, is there a reason why the Starfleet admiral they were all talking to was hidden from view? Is he someone significant?
The best part of the series going 900 years into the future is everyone can finally stfu about continuity. Same with the Picard show. Just do whatever they want.

They still kind of have to worry about continuity. Up to a 800 years into the future there was still a division of Starfleet that had timeline integrity as it's primary mission.
Maybe they arrived and had their time travel crystals taken away right away and they are put in an museum or something for being hopelessly out of date or the Federation collapsed in the ~100 years since then...
They did a good job of explaining why Burnham and the Discovery and the spore drive were not part of future Canon and did a good job of that.
I just finished watching, since this show dropped pretty low on my priority list. But I thought this was laughable. Oh, uh, ya the reason you haven't heard of any of this stuff? We decided not to tell anyone. Wink wink. Blah. Now along with separate time lines and alternate universes they can fall back on"pinky super secret swear" for any future retconning.
I really found it annoying how everything revolves around the worst actor on the show. Everyone loves Spock, lets make her his super secret sister! And this red angle mystery? Michael's mom! Half Klingon/half human? Sure, Michael's love interest, why not. Ugh.
I was glad to see the end of the spore drive. They spent a significant time with the whole the Spore Drive is destroying the network and killing the aliens live there.
Then a few weeks later Pike is like, get the spore drive on line we needs to use it.
It was inconsistent stuff like that, that drives me nuts.

First season 3 teaser out of NYCC today. Very interesting! Obviously they are no longer tied down to prequel canon and can kind of do anything they want, this will hopefully be where it really comes into it's own. I thought the last half of season 2 was excellent all around.
