They will sometimes let someone in if the tickets have been flagged as "stolen" so they can question both parties.

I have a similar but unrelated question. ( dont mean to hijack but. )



I was given 4 tickets to the hitman tonight from a neighbor (thru his company) standard tickets. My 4 yr old daughter is very excited to go but last night while I was taking out dinner she got a hold of the tickets and for some reason tore the barcode off all the tickets.... I have all the pieces but I think 2 barcodes are too badly torn to scan. Is there a way to get these replaced? thanks guys.

Nope. They acknowledged the error of allowing the same tickets being scanned twice and gave us seats.

I also remember once going to a playoff game (vs SJ) where someone was in our seats. I showed my tickets and they showed me theirs. Same seat number till I noticed theirs was for the following game. Not sure how they got in either. But they left the seats.

I am glad you got your date night, even if it was 15 minutes in. This exact same thing happened to me at an Astro's game in Houston. We bought our tickets off of a guy we know and have bought tickets from several times before. (To the guy who said 'Buy season tickets'- that's not feasible for some people!). Anyway, we got there, ticket code didn't work, someone else was in our seats, but they escorted the people out and brought us to our seats, so they must have been 'the scammers.' Great write up, this stuff is good to know!

This happened to my wife and I a few years ago. My wife bought tickets off a friend of ours that shared his seasons tickets. He sold my wife tickets for one of "his" games, but I guess when his ticket partner heard he wasn't going to the game, he just decided to print them and go.
We went through basically the same process, except the dome staff didn't give us other tickets; instead my buddy ended up buying us similar tickets when they called him for an explanation, so we still caught the game.
