What a boring game. I thought the N.J. Devils of old had been reincarnated.

Skip to the 24 second mark of the clip.

Vintage Iginla was so good. Powerplay, penalty kill, 5 on 5. Goals, assists, fights. Guy really did it all, in all situations.

Everything from the conference finals up to game one have been snoozers for the most part. Not sure if the players are getting fatigued but it's hard to watch at times.

You’ve got that right. Colorado vs Tampa would have been the most exciting final, once the Flames were eliminated.

The conference finals were definitely a step down in entertainment after the second round series, but I thought game 1 of the finals was good. I didn't feel bored watching it at all.

Pro sports is a spectacle. Without fans in the stands it is a shell of itself. Generally poor entertainment value. Money aside, its an interesting question to me whether these games would be played at all if nobody was watching on tv or streaming.

I think viewership is a separate issue from whether or not the games are played this season, and one from which it is impossible to remove the equation of money. As I understand it, the reason the League was so determined to finish the season was because they had already been paid in full by the networks for a complete 2019–20 hockey season. The alternative to playing was to return a huge amount of money, or to agree to a massive rebate as compensation on subsequent payments.

So, even if no one was watching, I suspect the NHL would have gone ahead and played out the schedule anyways as part of their contractual obligation, and as the most palatable alternative to returning hundreds of millions of dollars.

I mean, isn't people watching the games and making money the point of pro sports? Not really sure what you're getting at here...

Yeah, but he's no where near the best 100 players in NHL history. /s

This guy pretty much encapsulates exactly how I feel about Iggy being left off that list. I know it's just an arbitrary list, but a big FU to the people who put that list together without having Iggy on there. Malkin also got shafted from that list.

NSFW!

I kept watching, hoping they put Radio in the game. I wanted to see him get crushed.
Disappointed.

Any word yet if Stamkos is in the lineup?

Edit : nope, looks like he’s listed among the scratches.
