Default Don Larway Dart 1 RIP

It is with great sadness I would like to announce the passing of Don ( Dart) Larway. Don was born in Oak lake Manitoba and resided in Houston Texas until his passing on Thursday November 7th 2019 in Houston. Don's hockey life took him from the MJHL,WCHL to being drafted by the Boston Bruins 18th overall in 1974 and eventually playing with the Houston Aeros of the WHA. He immediately made his mark in the rebel league by scoring two goals in his first game as a rookie. This occurred during the first inter league game between the NHL's ( St Louis Blues) and WHA's (Houston Aeros) in a 5 to 4 win for Houston.
More recently Don's career had him run camera ( professional videographer) at the Astros - Nationals World Series games in Houston for Fox among other major events.
His friends and extended family in Houston are to have a memorial service to celebrate Don's life. Bring a story or picture to share as they remember Don and have a few laughs at his expense.
Remembrance and Celebration of the Life of Don "DART" Larway Thursday November 14th 2019 at 7 p.m. Kenneally's Irish Pub 2111 South Shepherd Drive Houston Texas 77019.

Don's funeral service is yet to be determined and will post when decided upon.

not a player I knew much about - although I believe I did have his hockey card- just took a minute to look him up. played Junior with Trottier and Tiger, and then in the WHA with the Howes in Houston and Gretzky and Messier in Indianapolis. I'm sure he had some stories!
Sounds like he will be well celebrated

I would like to thank you for sharing this. Not only did I learn about Don, but you also sparked a bit of a trip through Hockey DB for me.
