Passing on Kalil would basically be an admission that you don't think Ponder is going to work out, because if you believe in him why not try and help him succeed? Claiborne is a great player and the Vikes need as much help in the backend as they do on the line, but say they get Claiborne, does that help them at all next year? Sure they might not be letting up 34 a game, but when your QB is getting killed (in a division full of pass rushers) you likely still won't win much. Passing on Kalil to me is a sign they want Matt Barkley next year.

Cleveland Browns draft decision seems clear: Justin Blackmon or Trent Richardson (or trade?)

Cleveland Browns Hall of Fame running back Jim Brown says Trent Richardson is "ordinary''

If Blackmon goes 4 and Claiborne goes 5 then the rams are hooped, hopefully someone is very in love with Richardson so we can trade down and grab more picks. If not then you go with Bpa, and draft Richardson and maybe move Jackson. Not a ideal situation if Richardson falls to us, backs don't have much value on the trade market. Jackson would fetch a late round pick at best.

I said it in the Mock Draft thread, but I think Michael Floyd has the potential to be better than Blackmon. I think Blackmon's ceiling is closer to an Anquan Boldin (nothing wrong with that at all), while I think Floyd could be more of a Dwayne Bowe type player (minus the drops). Floyd likely would be higher ranked than Blackmon if not for his DUI arrest last year.

No offense to Bowe, but he's not at all what Anquan Bolden was at the same age. I agree, Blackmon is a lot like Bolden.

On the BS Report Mike Lombardi (NFL Network) figured the Rams could get a 3rd round pick for Jackson.

To be fair to Bowe, he really has never had a great QB throwing him the ball like Anquan did with Kurt Warner. Wouldn't shock me if Tannehill falls past Miami that KC is the team that takes him. Also wouldn't be shocked if KC traded down and tried to get Branden Weeden. I think he'd be a nice fit there as someone to push Cassel.

My money is on the Dolphins drafting Tannehill, that is the one pick I'm sure of from 3-10. Most of the other picks depend on what happens at 3 and here's my best guess if anyone really cares.

3. Kalil
4. Richardson
5. Claiborne
6. Cox
7. Blackmon
8. Tannehill
9. Gilmore
10. Barron

Minnesota getting pathetically desperate to get Tampa to come up to #3, now its been leaked Claiborne is #1 on their draft board. Kinda hard to get much leverage when everyone is basically daring you to do what you say.

I think Minnesota is smart enough to take Kalil. I also think the Browns take Blackmon and then target Boise State running back Doug Martin at 22.

Would be the only reasoning behind passing on Richardson.

Oh I know they're going to take Kalil, but they so badly want someone to trade with them. Really, they have Claiborne ahead of both Luck and Griffin? Just like the Jets had Richardson #1 on their board? I really hate this time of year, almost every rumour is total crap. Look at the only trade that did get done, the trade Washington and St. Louis made. No silly rumours, then a report there's a possible deal and then its done. Here its just straight up lying.

Insane the difference in those #1 overall contracts now. Bradford got 76 million with 50 guaranteed over 6 years.

And thats why teams are now more willing to reach for QBs (Gabbert, Ponder, Tannehill etc...), because its not as big a gamble as it used to be.

My favorite part of the draft is how the NFL somehow finds the most obnoxious, loudest and insufferable fans to fill Radio City Music Hall with for the draft. Some of the crowd shots make me question evolution

Browns have traded up one spot and now will draft third. Rumors are that the third-round pick was moved to Minnesota.

Why would you trade up 1 spot for a guy that would be there, unless they are taking Claiborne.
