I fully expect the Flames to get all the calls tonight, after the pathetic display by the officials the last 2 games. I expect the league/officiating supervisor will sit down with whoever is calling tonight to ensure that the whistles are put away on the Flames and called tightly on the Avs. This in attempt to save face and avoid criticism after the series... to make it go away.

Lots of talk about the first line needing to show up, totally valid. But they also have no room to operate. Compare McKinnon’s entries to Gaudreau’s. McKinnon waltzes right in at speed unhindered while Gaudreau is skating into a wall. When he does his button hook (try something new Johnny!) he is surrounded. The Avs have game-planned much better which is a big factor in the Flames’ performance.

Fully agree, but Gio hasn't been good either. No where close to being 1 of the Flames best players. They all need to be better.

I would reward Bennett by starting him on the top line with Johnny and Monahan. Maybe it’s the spark that ignites the other two.
Lindholm is a good defensive player so I’d put him on Backlunds line to try and limit MacKinnons chances. Note I say limit the chances because there is no way you are stopping him from generating chances.
This doesn’t change the overall dynamic but it addresses two needs and once IMO.

Things can really change with a win tonight. Suddenly game 6 becomes gigantic and a bit of pressure for the Avs.
Also was thinking, Flames have never come back from anything more than down 2-1 as far as I can remember. Of course we have won very few playoff series in the first place, but we're due.
