I Would be shocked if he played a game for the flames.

I caught him on local radio in Edmonton 2 weeks ago. Very likable personality. Says last year was bad luck. Went from 14 minutes in NHL to 28 minutes in the AHL and his body didn't take kindly to that. Pulled a groin and didn't really recover. Good addition, I think. Good Taber, AB boy.

BTW, he was on in that radio segment with his buddy, Ladislav Smid. Smid is a very funny guy. Sounds like, although he is playing in Europe now, he still has issues with the neck injury that ended his career in the NHL.

I'd have to check, but I don't think he wore 88 in Chicago.

Davidson played 11 games with the ECHL Stockton Thunder, so he is familiar with the city.

Decent depth defender. His whole family is in Southern Alberta between Taber and Lethbridge so he'll certainly be motivated to play well here, it's nice to see him on the right side of the Battle of Alberta this time.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Davidson one of the Giordanos that Edmonton had in their stable?

In all seriousness, decent depth signing. I doubt he will ever play for the Flames, but in case of injuries, it is nice to have a defencemen with a decent frame and NHL experience for depth.

Getting Prout's old number.

Might be the 6/7 guy.
