I think it has to be Lion King vs Toy Story in the finals.
Lots of good movies on there, but I question the sanity of anyone who doesn't end up as this in the finals.
If Toy story bombs at the box office, Pixar doesn't exist. I say this loving both Up and Wall-e.
The Lion King was the highest grossing movie in one of the best movie years ever and when you adjust for inflation the highest grossing movie of any of the movies in the bracket.
This bracket isn't about historical significance. It's about the best movies. Pixar would be pissed if Toy Story was chosen by everyone. It means they peaked at their first movie...
You could argue Lion King is the best Disney movie ever but Toy Story isn't the best Pixar movie.
You wouldn't say any of the original six teams were the best ever but if they weren't good we wouldn't have the NHL.
You could have a true 64 team tournament with a bracket for Classic Disney animation (Cinderella, Jungle Book, Pinocchio etc.) and one for Disney live action films.

I was thinking the same thing. I was considering putting one together.

I think the tremendous music has a lot to do with the love for Lion King.
Well, that and it's basically Hamlet for kids. Some serious and heavy themes in that one. I'm always afraid that my 2 year old is going to freak out when the father dies, but he seems to cope with it ok.
Seriously, Simba lays down with Mufasa's mangled and broken corpse for a few moments. This isn't like Bambi's mom getting shot off-screen or anything. It's a little intense.

There’s some weird omissions on the Pixar side even. Sorry, we aren’t considering Pixar’s highest grossing movie ever, Finding Dory, but have their lowest grossing one that nobody likes in The Good Dinosaur?

It looks like Pixar has released 19 feature films, so 3 had to be left off to get a bracket of 16. They chose Finding Dory, Monsters U, and Cars 3.
I can understand leaving off a sequel in favour of an original story, but I would have included Finding Dory rather than Cars 2.

I like to pretend that Cars 2 was never made. What a piece of crap that movie is.
Ratatouille getting some love here, excellent! I honestly don't no what I would pick here. The quality of animated movies the last 2 decades is astounding.
This is easy because I totally hate all of of these movies. Every bracket is loss. I'm more mellow now but as a kid, I hated these with a real and zealous passion that I can still remember as for me, Disney and Pixar exemplified the type of animation and storytelling that I would rather go to the dentist than have to sit through. It's probably still true as an adult.
Growing up I was a Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Looney Tunes, Tiny Tunes, Animaniacs etc. fan and WB > Disney and Pixar.
