Default Your Top 5 (or 10) Favourite Drama TV Series

Hey all, so I started this thread more to generate new TV shows to watch and follow haha. This is just a TV drama thread, no Simpsons, Family Guy, CSI, Rookie Blue, Seinfeld etc.

I'll start:

1. Jericho
2. Walking Dead
3. The Wire
4. The Newsroom
5. Justified

Why no CSI? Not that I want to include it, it just seems like an odd show to exclude so specifically.

The West Wing
The Wire
The Good Wife
Breaking Bad
Mad Men
Sherlock
Kung Fu
Battlestar Galactica
Have Gun Will Travel
Mission Impossible
Perry Mason
Star Trek (TOS, TNG, DS9 only)

I could probably list another 10-15 shows other than that, those are just off the top of my head.

I guess I just never looked at it as a drama. There doesn't seem to be underlying story from episode to episode.

1. Band Of Brothers
2. Sherlock
3. House Of Cards (so far)
4. Deadwood
5. Boardwalk Empire

Honourable mention to Mad Men, if it didn't start getting unwatchable after Season 4.

Current:

Breaking Bad
Mad Men
drop off

Game of Thrones
Homeland
Boardwalk Empire
Shameless.....it's half comedy/half drama. But it's one of my current favs.
The Walking Dead
Sons on Anarchy
Treme
The Following...really into this one. Plenty of logic leaps to take and the acting outside of Bacon is not great, but this is still a ride worth taking once a week.

All Time

The Wire/The Sopranos....depends what mood I'm in
drop off

Six Feet Under
The Shield
Breaking Bad
Mad Men
Deadwood......still so pissed they never finished off this amazing show.

Hard for me to put GoT, Boardwalk or Homeland on an all time list with only a couple of seasons done. Need to see more of the body of work, but in a year or two, I'd probably have no issue doing so.

To each his own I guess. I'm all for character arcs, but the way the writers moved the show completely made me and the wife disinterested.
