Favorite Hot Sauce
Well what do you like on your food to spice it up?
I've been alternating between Franks Red Xtra hot and Tabasco sauce recently but bought a bottle of Sriracha last weekend and I'm liking the flavor to that alot more

I really like the taste of Frank's Red Hot, and I also like Sriracha, but find that it can be a bit much for me.

The only way to go, I put that stuff on everything. Though if I am simply looking to spice up a chili, soup or a sauce I use a habanero extract, even a couple of drops of that stuff adds serious kick!

Whats more important, heat or flavor? I like it hot, but if it just burns, then might as well just get out the gas and light my tongue on fire instead

That's right. I'm not sure what Dave's ghost pepper is like, but if it's anything like Dave's insanity, it's mostly burn with very little flavour to it. Crossroads market on Blackfoot, a guy there has a ton of great hot sauces (many of them locally made too!). West Indian is one of my favourites. Moderate for heat at most (for the very high tolerance people...this stuff is still hundreds of times hotter than Frank's). It's VERY good on just plain white rice, any sort of chicken, and in soups/chilis. Jim Beam hot sauce is much milder, but great for any BBQish stuff you're doing.

I absolutely love Sriracha hot sauce! It goes on almost everything that I eat.
I find that if the hot sauce is so spicy that I can't even taste anything other than my mouth burning, it takes away from the flavor of the meal.
Sriracha is the perfect level of spiciness for me.

This stuff too, though not as often as Sriracha.
It's thicker and has a lot more garlic.

That stuff is awesome, and it is right on the threshold of deliciously hot, and to frikkin hot to eat it. Unlike you though, a bottle lasts me at least 6-8 mths.

Blair's Hot Sauce! Singe your arse hair off with this stuff, available at the Hallmark store believe it or not.
Many different degrees of spice and the chips are awesome too!

I am particular to Marie Sharp's habañero sauce, which I can only get by mail order. Great taste, strong heat:
Does anyone know of a good place in Calgary with a wide selection of hot sauces?

Perfect combo of flavour and heat.
Next time you make pizza, skip the pizza sauce and put a layer of this on with some cheese and some nice cured pepperoni. Nothing finer.

Sriracha is king, of course, this is good though...
Replaces regular Tabasco for everything. And then there is this...
Habanero Tabasco can be too spicy for a lot of people, but it has an awesome habanero taste.
Valentina hot sauce is really good on pizza, burritos etc. Not really spicy but has a great flavour.
