Surprised he would get a one-way deal, but I wouldn't be surprised to still see him on waivers at some point next season. Maybe even before the season starts.

Thanks for reminding me that he spent two years on the Flames bench
The Flames had an incredible one-two punch of coaching futility with him and GG

I wish the best for him. He was a bit of a bust as a top 15 pick but it's not due to lack of effort. He's kind of like Byron to me in that doesn't' have elite talent but he's a good dude and works hard and you like to see those guys succeed.

I don't know why they signed an AHL player to a one-way deal

So he signs with them over other 2-way offers elsewhere.

If a person goes through life with people thinking he’s a nice guy, he is doing something right.
I’m happy for him and hope he s a success in Buffalo.

FWIW he was picked #17 by Ottawa, didn’t make the top 15.

It looks like John Gilmour will also be signing a one-way deal with Buffalo.
Sabres really digging into ex-Flames properties

James Neal would look really good in a Sabres jersey.

Because if the Oilers didn't exist then the Sabres would be the dumbest hockey team in the league. Just pure ineptitude for years.

I think you guys are also maybe reading in to this too much as moves strictly for the Sabres. Pegula also owns the Rochester Americans -- there's value to the ownership in having an entertaining minor league team too. He's looked pretty good at the AHL level, if anything, so if he's contributing down there, well, it's not my money.

When Curtis Lazar signs with BUF it will be one year at league minimum of $700K.
