In other words, the Blues tried to dump him but no team was willing to take him.

Several regimes ago.

If Curtis McElhinney were to return, would the Flames make him sit on an upturned garbage can in the locker room?

If so...its a gamble.

May pay off, may not, but it is definitely taking a chance.

If they sign Talbot, they've also told him this. So it's a statement designed to push both.

Have we heard anything on Rittich's contract? Does he get something as high as the Ramo deal @ 3.8m?

There's nothing in Rittich's history that shows he's worth that.

He's an RFA for one more year. He should be coming in around that 2-3M AAV, depending on how long the contract is.

We know that Rittich was sent his QO. I wouldn’t expect to hear anything further for several weeks.

I doubt Rittich gets anywhere near Ramo’s last deal, who re-signed as a UFA after a solid year which included a strong playoff performance. Rittich is not there yet, and the team will be drawing comparisons closer to Casey DeSmith and Anderson Nilsson when structuring a deal. He probably signs for $2.5-3.0 m.

How much is a lot? Because if Rittich come in at 2.5 ish, Lehners coming in at 4 or 5. I think its manageable to bring him in. Hes young enough that term isn't an issue.

Fans will breath easier when big save Dave finally signs. I don't like how quiet that has been. If Treliving doesn't get this done and Talbot suddenly becomes the starter we are in big trouble.
