He allowed 7 goals in a game twice in the playoffs...
May 11, 2009 -- Game 6 of the second round against Chicago. Vancouver took a 5-4 lead at 12:15 of the third period. By 16:17, Chicago led 7-5. The Hawks won the series that night.
June 6, 2011 -- Game 3 of the Finals against Boston. Vancouver won the first two games of the series at home. When the series shifted to Boston, the Bruins won big, 8-1. The game was 4-0 after 2, so I'm not even sure why Luongo finished the game.
He allowed 7+ in a regular season game 5 times. 2 were when he was still with the Islanders and the other 3 were all after 2009.
It looks like the collapse against Chicago in 2009 was the culprit (also the source of Luongo's Chelsea Dagger induced nightmares).

The Nucks also allowed 7 goals against the Hawks in 2010 but one was an empty netter.
I recall the best Luongo ever played in the playoffs was the first round series versus Dallas in 2007. He only gave up 12 goals in 7 games, won a 4 OT game, and in all three of his loses he received zero goal support including a 1-0 OT loss. The Hawks loss two years later really rattled his playoff confidence.

I'm pretty sure that it was that game. It was an epic Vancouver collapse, and I recall Kane scoring the last goal on a backhand from quite far out (who knows if my memory is accurate), and indicated Luongo's lack of confidence by that time.
A good friend of mine who was (and I guess still is) a Canucks fan commented to me the next day that somewhere along the line in the third period he finally realized that no matter how many goals the Canucks could score the Hawks would simply score another, and then another, LOL.

The cherry on top of course was when 7uongo stated in a press conference that a goal Tim Thomas let in was "an easy save for me". He the proceeded to let in 7 goals the next game.

Edit: haha
Not quite. Luongo made this assertion after winning Game 5. The Canucks lost Game 6 in Boston by a score of 5-2 and Luongo was replaced by Corey Schneider in the first period.

Good memory, the comeback starts around 5 minutes in...

Come on guys Chelsea dagger is traumatic for Flames fans too. They also lost to Chicago in 2009 which included hearing that horrible song 5 times in Kipper’s poor game 5.

That’s a great clip, actually. Never saw it before.

Better than Joseph, probably a touch below Belfour.
Who's a goaltending equivalent of Guy Carbonneau? Sean Burke? JS Giguere? No shade on Guy, but he should be a first ballot 'role player' hall of famer along with guys like Tie Domi and Joel Otto.
271 players inducted; 36 goalies is 13%...not too far under the 17% they represent of the six players on the ice at a given time, but it is a little odd considering the general importance placed on the position...
Another interesting thing - Luongo appeared in 15 more games than Roy, but Roy played about 340 more minutes...I suppose Luongo must have had a lot more partial games?

Frankly I don't even remember hearing that song against the Flames. But I sure remember it in the Canucks series. Maybe because it was such an epic fail by the Canucks.
