Kinda hate to disparage a legend, but I think we all kinda just tolerated Bob for about the last 10 years of his career. In his prime, he was certainly the best in Canada. Some of my best hockey memories are of Bob calling the late 90s and early 00s playoffs when the Flames were in obscurity.

Doc is/was sharp as a tack right until the end.

I didn’t always love his PBP but few better at goal calls. Just the perfect amount of enthusiasm, the right pitch and the way he could raise his voice without screaming like a buffoon was quite masterful.
