Default Your Top 10 Prospects

With the draft now completed, I'm curious to hear GMs' perspectives on their prospects. Hopefully this will lead to increased trading as it will give other GMs a chance to see who you value within your ranks and who may be available.

Following the guidelines established by the Athletics' prospect rankings (loosely), list your team's top 10 prospects that are 21 or younger. They can be NHLers, AHLers, or ECHLers as long as fit the age criteria.

To get things started, here are the Blackhawks' top 10 prospects:
1. Filip Chytil
2. Egor Zamula
3. Dawson Mercer
4. Ozzy Wiesblatt
5. Lucas Elvenes
6. Karl Henriksson
7. Joachim Blichfeld
8. Mikey Anderson
9. John Farinacci
10. Alex Cotton

HM: Jake Leschyshyn

Dillon Dube, Miro Heiskanen and Filip Zadina I consider graduated and a part of the future core of the team. It would take a lot to shake them loose, as I'm interested in watching their development. (I'm doing this instead of HM)

Alex Barre-Boulet would likely be #2 on the following list, but is 23 years old. Most of the players not listed here consist of high risk/high reward players, which I would be happy to hit on 20% of them.

Scott Perunovich
Cale Addison
Dominic Bokk
Alex Alexeyev
Danil Tarasov
Evan Barrett
Nathan Legare
Dylan Samberg
Kristian Vesalainen
Kevin Stenlund

Two players are on the bubble and are almost interchangeable with the bottom of this list. Bokk and Addison got a little boost because I paid a hefty price for them.

The Washington Capitals dont have a deep prospect pool. We have a few picks in the upcoming drafts that we hope will improve this list quite a bit.

1 - Seth Jarvis
2 - Helge Grans
3 - Daniel Torgersson
4 - Timothy Liljegren
5 - Simon Holmstrom
6 - Filip Johansson
7 - Victor Berglund
8 - Drew Helleson
9 - Elliot Desnoyers
10 - Brett Leason

Will this strategy pay off for the often fickle Islanders GM - time will tell. In the meantime, he has embarked on a brave journey against the dreaded watchdog, with no cap in sight he is armed only with his cunning and wit.

I have to admit that when I log in first thing in the morning, the first place I go is the Islanders page, its almost must see TV for me.

I mean the sheer speed that changes occur and his cap goes up and down reminds me of people that I know that are day traders.

Well done.

I expect that in two weeks, Scorp is going to go back into the desert and come out scorched by the sun and dehydrated to the point of looking like a piece of three year old Beef Jerky and proclaim that Xenu gave him a vision, that his path to success is all retired players, because experience you know. Then he'll turn into a force ghost and start trade talks by whispering in our heads.

LA Kings Prospect Breakdown

1 high end prospect
14 "B" prospects
11 wing and a prayer prospects
6 need a miracle prospects

Better than last year. I think that my only strategy is going to be adding high risk players this year, and hope for the best. Most of my offers will probably include the other GM asking "why does he want this guy?".
  1. Scott Perunovich (St.Louis)
    Kirill Marchenko (Columbus)
    Filip Gustavsson (Ottawa)
    Cale Addison (Minnesota)
    Ryan Suzuki (Carolina)
    Jack Dugan (Las Vegas)
    Danil Tarasov (Columbus)
    Alex Alexeyev (Washington)
    Akil Thomas (LA)
    Riley Damiani (Dallas)

Samuel Fagemo (LA)
Brennen Mennell (Minnesota)
Dylan Samberg (Winnipeg)
Kole Lind (Vancouver)
Max Gildon (Florida)

So Perunovich is kind of a class of his own, and then 14 players drop that are really close to each other in value. After Tarasov, I think that there is another tier where the players are pretty interchangeable.

The rest of my prospects, I've built with players that I like, but may not amount to much. Players that I want to see where they go in their careers, so they are on my team because that makes it easy to track. Last year I went pretty hard for Marchenko, Damiani and Neiderbach in trades because I like the player, and although it makes little sense in the game, it's going to be tough to trade for one of those players off of the Kings.
