Thanks everyone! As someone that grew up in this market reading the Herald sports section religiously, it's pretty surreal to be in the same organization as some of the game's best writers.
Pike, this is so well deserved. I still remember sitting on the bus with you everyday through elementary and junior high, and talking sports with you. You always outpaced me (obviously) on any sports topic, but were always so patient and gracious to talk to. I was lucky to call you one of my good friends for many years, and had a ball playing house league with you during that time too. I still have fond memories of the many sleepovers we had growing up, talking sports and playing video games til the wee hours of the morning. I'm so happy to see that you made your dream come true.
Congrats old friend, I can't think of anyone more deserving.

congrats, but can you clarify for the rest of us if being a member of the PHWA gives you:
- preferred parking all over town?
- discounts at local merchants?
- impunity to speed?
as an aside, i am surprised that duhatchek is not a member.
also, i should note for the sake of the CP collective, that Eric Francis represents 20% of the local membership of the PHWA
