Default Assassians Creed 3

Ubisoft announced they are working on AC3 (Brotherhood was not part of the trilogy).

This one is going to be set during the American Revolution. The new assassin will be named Carter and will be a half white have Native American. He will have run ins with George Washington, Ben Franklin and Charles Lee at least. He will visit cities such as Boston and New York as well as be in the battlefields of Bunker Hill and Valley Forge.

The storyline takes place over 30 years starting around the beginning of the Revolution. Also it will take place at different times of the year, some in winter and some in summer. The winter scenes could be very cool I think.

Some big things I like are they realized that people did not like the tower defense part of Brotherhood and promise that it will not be in this one. You will be able to hunt animals as well, this should add a neat feature if done well.

This is the first time I've had apprehensions about the setting, but seeing some of those pics helped relieve me a bit. In those pictures it looks like a new, updated game engine, the natural environment especially looks to have gotten a big graphics upgrade. If they have you doing a bunch of stealth moves in nature, that could actually be pretty cool.

Still not crazy about the setting choice, I knew they had to bring it to the New World eventually (you could see the story arc eventually leading to America), but I was more hoping they'd go the Spanish-Aztec route (climbing around the pyramids in Tenochtitlan would've been unbelievable). But those pictures give me promise.

They are using a new version of the Anvil engine that can "depict thousands of troops engaged in bloody battle" along with highly detailed face close-ups. This is a much improved version that they were using before.

There will also be a very large countryside setting. The countryside will be the setting of about 1/3 of the game, and will be the location of many events during the game. The countryside will be about 1.5 times as big as Rome in Brotherhood. In the countryside you will be able to climb cliffs and trees.

Another cool feature is that you can wield two weapons at the same time. They say the big one will be a tomahawk and blade at the same time to make for great fights.

Blending might not be so effective, until you assassinate and wear a disguise!

Looks cool, but I feel like I'm so far behind in the story at this point I probably won't even bother. Stupid yearly sequels.

This article has a huge laundry list of new elements for the new one.
http://www.computerandvideogames.com...lish-are-evil/

I liked how they mentioned that being on the offensive is the new key to fighting. As much as I love those games, the fighting can get quite repetitive. It's basically all just defend and counter. Should be interesting to see the difference. Sounds almost like a completely new game.

Honestly, who cares?

I never played the first two Assassina Creed games, and if I was quizzed, I probably couldn't break down the plot of the last two, but they are pretty fun so I enjoyed them.

Yeah, that and Desmond's story has been drastically cut in the last 2 titles. He's becoming more of a background figure, and basically just an excuse/tie-in so they can keep jumping all over history. It really doesn't matter, that guy's a plug.

The problem with Ubisoft is they make their games very difficult to buy right when it comes out as they drop their prices so fast on the games. Revelations came out November 2011 (I think the 15th?) and just a little over a month later was on sale for 19.99.

Rayman Origins (awesome game as well) fell to 29.99 pretty fast too.

That's a problem? I think it's fantastic. Unlike EA where Mass Effect 1 DLC is still bloody expensive.

I'm actually looking forward to this. The pictures make it look very interesting and the fact that you can hunt animals now seems like it may also be an interesting addition.

1st trailer up. As per most first trailers, it doesn't show much. Looks like lots of running on treetops in a mostly rural setting. Still not sold on the setting yet, but it certainly looks like it has the potential to be cool. Game comes out on Halloween by the by.

Can see trailer here (or on Youtube in the next 10min I'm sure): http://www.computerandvideogames.com...ailer/?mode=hd
