So You Think You're A Flames Fan?
We headed down towards the dome last week to find out if Flames fans knew a few of the newer Flames. Turns out there's a lot of closet Oilers fans in our midsts.
Wow that is surprising. Although I do spend half my days on a Flames forum so I am probably in a the minority when compared to the people that typically go to games. I would imagine that STH would score higher than single ticket users.

Realistically I would have gotten Hanifin, Lindholm, and Czarnick. Maybe Dube but he looks way older than I thought he'd look. Derek Ryan there's no chance. I mean ... Look at this photo.
Anyway a fun idea we had when talking about video ideas for BLT. We decided to test it.
Most fans cheer for the guys in red. Who they are past Johnny and Mony isn't relevant to most.
This may just be my hockey addiction speaking, but in a Canadian market I would expect more than that. There were times, thanks to the EA sports games before they got the rights to use the names, I could probably name 85% of the league if I had their number.

We were definitely lucky that the fans we chatted with were all good natured fans . Although I think that's the norm for Flames fans. We had a good laugh and so did they. That's why we wanted to make the video.
I don't know why this irks me but it does. You're a fan of the team, you go to games, maybe you're a STH. You buy the gear, you seem to be invested, yet you have no idea what players look like? Especially the ones that just came to the Flames with much fanfare over the summer?
Trying not to sound like a jerk, but that just bugs me for some reason.

(for the record I did really enjoy the video!)
Ryan is the guy, wears a helmet, fairly nondescript, has #10 on his back and the nameplate says Ryan.
Couldn’t pick him out of a police lineup, and wouldn’t know him if I ran in to him, but do know when he is on the ice.
I was a STH for years, but couldn’t make out any facial details from my seats. The faces you usually see are the ones the media guys talk to regularly.
Unfair picture of Dube by the way. He appears to be clean shaven rather than having the stubble that grows almost up to his eyelids.

Pretty sure that's just parsons with his tattoos airbrushed out.
