Default Game Takes: Flames 4 Rangers 1

Game Takes:
Flames 4 Rangers 1

- Easily Calgary's worst game of the season
- Rittich steals one in a statement game
- Gaudreau scores two to hit 300 points
- Hathaway with two as well
- Brodano broken up.

Yeah. Tonight was definitely the Flames worst game of the season so far, for sure. Have to be better against MTL and beyond. Rittich was absolutely amazing.

Thanks for the write ups!

I thought they were great in the 2nd half, at the start of they were outmatched.

No team plays flawlessly all season, there will be more nights like tonight. But the fact that they picked up a W despite playing terrible is huge. Just like the Nashville game, they definitely didn’t play at their best on Friday either and still only lost by one (plus an empty netter) to the best team in the west. Probably could’ve won that one too had Bennett or Tkachuk buried those ones that went right through the 5 hole. This is a luxury we haven’t seen in a long while. They don’t need to play a 100% perfect game to have a chance at the win.

You have to get a goalie steal or two for sure.

But man they need to clean up the turnovers and high danger chances. It was embarrassing.

Great write up.

Maybe Flames are finally a really good team; because really good teams find ways to win games they should not.

They 'out-talented' the Rangers last night. If Flames would have worked as hard as the Rangers the game might have ended 10-0 rather than 4-1.

I only hope they don't start to think they can half-ass it to wins on the regular.

No way Peters lets that (lack of) work ethic sink in.

Hopefully not. It's been a pattern over more than GG's tenure.

Yep. You need more than the coach to make it happen.
