From the stars prospect report they released yesterday:

Quote:
RW Denis Gurianov (first round/2015) wrapped up his season with Lada Togliatti of the KHL last week, playing two games and registering no points. Gurianov finished the season with 5 points (4 goals, 1 assist) in 47 games while averaging 10:06 of ice time per game. Gurianov has now gone back to Russian juniors, where he played one game last week and registered one assist and six shots on goal. He has 3 points (2 goals, 1 assist) in 4 games in juniors this season.
KHL: 47 gp, 4g, 1a, 5 pts, -11.
MHL: 4gp, 2g, 1a, 3 pts, -1

Not a great year for Guryanov either, add in the fact he got cut from Russias WJC team just makes it worse for the guy. I'd buy low on him for sure. But I'd take Nichushkin all day long over Guryanov.

He's too similar to the rest of the team's blueline. A soft puck moving defenceman. I don't want him back at any price, honestly.

Hopefully, in September for $2m...

He played 4th line in the KHL due to being an 18 year old. Was 2nd last on his team's roster in ice time. Still a massive ceiling there to become a Kovalchuk-lite.

Oh no doubt, I like Guryanov a bunch, but just putting the seasons numbers out there. Not a great season any which way you want to cut it.

I think Hudler + Russell is fair for Nichushkin, assuming they are trading him. That's 2 low 1st rounders or maybe a low 1st + 2 x 2nd in terms of value.

It would be insane if the Flames somehow got Nikushkin and Drouin and they had 6 1st rounders from the 2013 draft

Drouin(3)
Monahan(6)
Nikushkin(10)
Porier(22)
Shinkaruk(24)
Klimchuck(28)

Gaudreau - Monahan - Nichushkin
Drouin - Bennett - Poirer
Shinkaruk - Jankowski - Laine/Puljujarvi

Agreed that would be cool.

But I don't see how we have the pieces to get both, maybe one or the other. And on top of that I don't see this team making a move for Douin at all. I'm positive I heard Treliving or Burke comment on the fact that they strongly did NOT like a young player like that sitting out and demanding a trade. Although I could have imagined that last part lol.

I agree Drouin is unlikely for the Flames unless the asking price is so dirt cheap. Nikushkin fits a much bigger need anyway.

I would be shocked if they moved him for 2 rentals but would rather do that then move those guys for a couple 2nd and 3rd round picks.

I'm not sure the actual player makes me all that excited.
He put up 34 points in his first year in the NHL, that same season the older Monahan put up 34 points.

He missed almost the entire last season.

This season, the Stars have brought in players like Sharp. Nichushkin has had some very favourable opportunities with players like Benn and Seguin, but it's not exactly surprising that Sharp has gotten most of the time on the right wing for them. Instead Nichushkin has played a relatively high amount of time with Roussell and Fiddler and Hemsky, often times on his off-wing. He sees relatively low amount of PP time because they do have these vets who are getting it done. Competing for a playoff spot, they didn't have time to cuddle back the 20 year old coming off major surgery by giving him a large amount of unwarranted ice time.

This is a player with size, speed, skill and hands. It's hard not to be excited for him as a player. If it wasn't for the "Russian Factor" he very possibly goes in the top 5 of the 2013 draft.

I'd like a guy like Chush on the Flames, but not sure if Chush is THAT guy. You feel me?

TSN values the Oilers very high. Remember they've been believing the Oilers are building something special there since 2008 or so.
