Had a situation remind me that it's been a long, long time since I listened to some Meatloaf...so now I've got Bat out of Hell going, with Bat out of Hell II queued up.

Damn, this man can SING

Just finished a walk with my dog to a few Rush of Blood to the Head tunes.

Coldplay has taken a nosedive by trying to mold to the times vs just doing what they do, but this album was them at their peak and is up there with some of the best albums ever IMO.

In my mind one of the best super groups ever is still Asia. They had such a clean sound to them as well. And their album covers were historically epic.

Bono shares my love for one of R.E.M.'s greatest songs:

We lost Ian Curtis 40 years ago today. There will never be another like him.

Peter Hook performed the Joy Division catalog live a few years ago. They're streaming the performance all day today.

Thanks for this. I listened to these two bands when they were new (and when U2 was more appreciated by an edgy crowd well before massively breaking mainstream), and it is cool to see Bono articulating his admiration for REM.

Next Tuesday would have been the 94th birthday of Miles Davis.

If you have Sirius, it is all Miles on Ch. 67.

they sure traded punches on the way up, eh?

by early 83 U2 had a 2 LP lead then we get

feb 28 83 War
Apr 12 83 Murmur
Apr 9 84 Reckoning
Oct 1 84 Unforgettable Fire
June 10 85 Fables
July 28 86 Pageant
March 1 87 Joshua Tree
Sep 1 87 Document

by then the certainly both belonged to the world
