For 2 periods I agree. Holland still needs to improve this team. They were a top 5 ES differential team in 2016/2017 and almost made the West finals. No coincidence. That has to improve. Cannot just keep "skilling" your way to wins more often than not.

Right now they basically just break even at ES and have good specials teams (PK and PP). Pk is top 5.

All Holland needs to do is improve the bottom 6. They have got better, but they have sunk them too often

Rational post. Not very often an Oilers fan can admit their faults.

Don't know how they keep getting away with being outplayed.

The good thing is you know that always comes back to get you eventually. A lot of poorly executed games from opposing teams and goalies (many backups) in that building.

They looked fantastic today in their own end. Always back with the young dmen we had dressed.

They really didn't. But you keep telling yourself that.

Ok this isn't rational. They looked terrible in their own end.

#### off with points percentage. Playoffs aren’t seeded by points percentage. Oiler fans only started talking about points percentage when they fell behind the Flames in actual points. Anything to twist the stats to make the Oilers appear better than they actually are.

The funny thing is, the Penguins were dominating zone time for 2 periods, but I would say Edmonton had more high danger chances during that time. I love Pittsburgh. Class org. Wish we could take their scouts. They always find guys who come up and look good. Win board battles, play the game well, etc.

Go on the road for 7 like the Flames have, then we'll see where your points percentage is at.

High end elite players can make good goalies look silly. That is what makes EDM dangerous. They can score on mistakes more easily than most teams.

That is what the Home/Road split will look like for the Oilers and Flames by 15 December. What a joke.
I don't get why Flames fans would be mad? You guys are better on the road.

I'm pretty sure what makes EDM "dangerous" is that they play a style of play (high wingers, collapsed defense) that is well-suited to capitalizing on sloppy portions of the season.

And by dangerous, I mean it's just Hartley hockey and easily shut down with better attention to details.

Do McDavid and Draisatl still allow more HDCA than any forward in the NHL?

Sounds like a recipe for success.

That is where I feel positive about the team for the next few years. I think they have so much room for improvement. I don't think Tippett is the guy either. I would give Edmonton a 6/10 on the year so far, yet they are 16-5. It's not like they have a Hasek in net either. I think Holland will get them another 2/3 pieces to round them out.

With what cap?

And they certainly have better results than their play. Probably comes crashing back when they finally go on the road in the second half.
