I've had my wrists on ice for 2 days. Meanwhile, I got kids and a genius wife to feed (I don't have no babies).

The Good, The Bad and The Weird is a fun screwball western comedy. Never thought I would see a kimchi western but there it is. Good suggestion peter12.

Looks like the ban is in effect. Unblock us says they will have a fix soon. Curious to see how this plays out.

I understand what you're saying, but... 20 years ago I paid $70/month to Shaw for Internet and 65 cable channels, of which I watched maybe 10. Today, I pay $241/month to Shaw for Internet and 300 cable channels, of which I watch maybe 10, albeit in higher HD quality. Movie rentals, Netflix monthly fees and iTunes purchases are on top of that. Definitely more expensive than before.

Interesting. Their Twitter was blowing up today with reports of it being down and anything I tried to watch in any international Netflix, that isn't also on Canada, was rejected. That was this am tho. May have been fixed since.

adjusted for inflation the cost of internet and tv seems like it's far more expensive than it was in the 80's. i could dead wrong...
i love netflix but i find that its at best a complimentary piece of entertainment. mod question: is it frowned upon to discuss watching streaming/downloaded movies? not how to do but, even say, admitting it?

There's no doubt that the cost of Internet is way up since the 1980's, it was so much cheaper then.

Eventually I'm just going to have to go back to cable. Paying for NHL Gamecenter, mlb.TV, Netflix, and not to mention Spotify, I'm probably paying similarly to what is costs to have cable. I need to figure out if I'm getting enough bang for my buck.

"VPN providers now represent a significant business group and there is little chance that they will simply stand by and lose their customers if Netflix succeeds."
I bet most of the VPN subscribers use VPN to get pass geo-blocking. And VPN providers simply won't just lie down and die.

Anyone else noticed that despite a content agreement being announced in 2014, there aren't any Disney movies on Netflix Canada?

It's only new movies not the back catalogue. Age of Ultron, Cinderella and Tomorrowland are probably the only ones you'll notice for now.
More movies like Antman and Star Wars will show up eventually. And stuff like Inside Out and the Good Dinosaur will show up too.

I suppose in my situation since I became a dad my media consumption has dropped through the floor. For me NHL and Netflix are basically all I need as I can barely get through a movie in less than 2 sittings these days. If you're opposed to torrenting and have high needs for media consumption then I see how the cost can raise dramatically.

Inside Out is supposed to show up Jan. 26th, from what I've read.

Netflix has evolved to the point where I would still pay for it even if I could only get Netflix Canada, although I'll use my VPN until it stops working. They are worth it on the strength and sheer volume of their original shows alone, and it costs less than a premium cable channel.
