They can at any hour. I'd like to see evidence that power plays are decreased in the playoffs.

Not Don Cherry circa 1981.

How many are there in each case?

Very abnormal to see such a penalty discrepancy in an evenly-played series at 5v5 like this as historically those metrics nicely correlate, as you would expect. Further, historically the team trailing in a given game earns powerplays more frequently than the leading team, exasperating the split.

As Elliotte Friedman says, to paraphrase, "The Oilers' arena is name after my employer and the League's largest sponsor, what do you expect me to do, criticize them?" Matching the Oilers at 5v5 is not enough given the pressure applied; it will take domination and/or a superb goaltending performance. Thankfully, whomever comes out of the Stars/Golden Knights/Avalanche pot will easily overcome that.

Can say 12-11 5 on 5 since that last Oilers goal was basically a PP

That’s the most and longest poster interviews I’ve ever seen on sports net. Did the oilers just win the cup?

I am glad Walsh is calling it out for what it is. There should be an investigation into the NHL.

At least living in New Zealand, I don't work with any goading Oiler fans anymore! Lol

The Avs are our best hope at this point eliminating the Oilers

They really had to win that last game against Chicago... Morons. Everyone and their mother knew what would happen. I doubt they would have beat the Stars, but the Kings definitely had a better chance in that series.

Why would they? They have Steven Kwan and José Ramirez, 20-10 record with Bieber pitching 1(?) game. Pretty impressive.

Which hockey team should they cheer for, Buffalo? Pittsburgh? Columbus? Detroit?

Columbus would make the most sense with their AHL team being in Cleveland.

Unfortunately more rest now for the Oilers. And if Demko is hurt another bye to the conference finals with even more rest.

It is annoying.
You wonder why I questioned your motives...Kings were absolutely robbed this game. We have a freaking agent saying it. I never said Kings in 5... Imagine gloating about an Oiler win

Maybe. We should defer to Hockey_Ninja on this one because Cleveland people have a team in all the other sports.

Where are all you Oiler fans? Do you want to celebrate or are you scared of the Nashville matchup?

PPs go up in the playoffs, but only in the first two rounds.

Oilers have the easiest path in the playoffs. Are we surprised they beat LA? They hit the jackpot again not having to face Vegas and they know it.

I couldn't watch the game as my boy had a late lacrosse game but listening to the Kings radio feed they spent the entire 2nd intermission discussing how disappointed they were in the officiating. It certainly sounds like the game was not a good look for the NHL. That said the Kings were never going to win this series. They are basically the definition of what the Flames aspire to be. A once promising rebuild got derailed after making the playoffs unexpectedly where they accelerated things to the point they are arguably already declining. But congratulations to them for making the playoffs three seasons in a row even if it's for a quick cup of coffee. A flatlined franchise devoid of elite difference makers that's going to be spending years running the wheel of mediocrity. Congratulations to the Oilers for beating the NHL definition of first round red carpet.

Wow.

Wow.

This Oilers team is a dynasty that may rival the Habs in number of cups won.

Just speechless. Absolute domination by an amazing, awe-inspiring hockey team. Perfection.

There may never be a better hockey team. Ever.

Meh. Vancouver beats them in 6. Nashville might need 7. Colorado would need 4.

Watched part of the second. Remembered why I stopped watching. Loud, screaming PBP, McBaby calling penalties, close to infraction-free hockey from the Oilers. They had just scored on the PP,, Doughty is called and I haven't seen the penalty the morning after, another PP and goal.

No matter what happens, that team for me always should have an asterisk by their name. Can't win without a PP..
