I needed a pick-me-up this morning. This’ll do the trick.

For some reason I had never listened to either of the two albums by Arcade Fire after The Suburbs. I listened to the Reflektor album and thought it was good. I'm listening to Everything Now now and am enjoying more than Reflektor. But I'm seeing Everything Now got so-so reviews. Different strokes for different folks!

SiriusXM has special channels currently devoted to Bob Marley, Queen, Beastie Boys and Prince.

Yesteday I heard Dave Grohl and Taylor Hawkins play their favorite Queen songs.

I've been absorbing the new Jayhawks album over the last few days, and it's like being wrapped in a warm blanket.

So many critical darlings that become popular get unfairly dumped on afterwards. I think Arcade Fire always make good records. Modest Mouse too.

I like Arcade Fire, and their first three albums are brilliant. But the two most recent albums did absolutely nothing for me. Not that I think they're terrible by any means, but the direction they've gone in lately just isn't my cup of tea. Different strokes indeed.

The compilations "Johnny Hanson Presents: Puck Rock" volumes 1 & 2 are full of great hockey songs. I especially like this one:

So sorta listen, but I realized that concerts aren't going to come back for a while, so I'm diving into the rabbit hole and looking up concerts and watching them and to be honest a lot of times when I do my lists, it helps me pick bands or singers to dive into the rabbit hole to find.

So for example I did the all girl bands and dove in and found the Go Go's in central park, a great concert to watch because Jane Wiedlin and Kathy Valentine are a really good rhythm section with Gina Schock, and its a very good concert.

I used to really love Meatloaf because there was this combination of Rock and Opera sensibilities with a real theatrical kick, so I found this Night of the Prom concert

The Bangles live in Pittsburgh

Heart 2018 LA

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band 2018 Rockin Rio

I saw that Gordon Lightfoot was trending on Twitter, but thankfully it was just because of this song which is still poignant today.

The Hip did a great cover of this song a few years ago.

thought you guys might find this interesting, the evolution of a song from Bo Diddley in 1955 to Beyonce 60 years later via Jamaica, 1967
