Man...I totally forgot they went out and got Mike Green.

Its hard to blame these guys. My money says that if the NHL werent being forced by third-party contracts to finish the season and deliver some content as well as being desperate for the revenue they'd have binned this season already.

For the most part, these guys are a combination of well into their careers, who have made their money, and impending UFA unlikely to play for their team much longer. However as the depth chart shifts up by one, the guys joining the teams aren’t likely in that same place of privilege and their career can’t afford them sitting out.

I’m taking solace in the fact that the new guys will typically be younger and even less likely to have an adverse COVID outcome. I recognize that I’m in the minority but the imbalance of freedom makes me slightly uneasy.

Green played 2 games for the Oilers and got injured. Now, he's opting out of returning.

If that's what the Oilers got for a 4th round pick, giving up a third in the Neal deal should look like a bargain to them.

"I play for Edmonton now? We'll see about that!"

Like a true Calgarian, he'll do anything to avoid going to Edmonton.

Mike Green's two-game Oilers tenure is going to be filed under "hey, remember when?" in a few years. Like Housley as a Leaf, Zuccarello as a Star, and Modin as a Flame.

Zucc was a beast for Dallas in the playoffs, he'll be remembered fondly for that

That's very true. Bad example... how about Kunitz as a Thrasher? I have yet to find any photographic evidence that actually happened.

The interesting ones are where the player was there for a good amount of time, yet you have no memory of them

Example: Doug Gilmour as a Sabre. That happened!?!!?
Eric Lindros as a Star!?!?!

Olli Jokinen as a Coyote is still odd to me. I know that's where the Flames got him from, but.... how did he get there????
