lol, how about the Town and Country? Played pool there in our league 2 years ago. how long has the smoking ban been in bars? You can still smell it in there. Same decor for 40 plus years I'm guessing.

Part of being a bar regular is partially abandoning responsibilities in your life like wives, children, and jobs. The true gems are the ones who manage to walk that line between keeping it together, thus allowing them to pay for their continual bar tab, and total alcoholic despair.
Like others have said, being a regular is as easy as sitting down in the same spot at the bar 4+ nights a week.
Will your wife complain that you aren't spending enough time with her, drinking too much, have no motivation, etc... of course. In fact, I'd be concerned if she didn't. She's probably cheating on you.

Sadly lots of those places are no longer the same.
The Point is totally redone changed how you enter the pub.
I miss the old Rose.
The Ship is a pit.

There's no sadly about the Point being redone. It was so dank, so very dank... whoever ripped out all that carpet better have been in a full hazmat suit.

I remember my aunt working at the Unicorn when I was just a little kid. The Irish Rovers owned it then and I recall them being really nice guys.

Loco Lou’s used to be called Jezebel’s in the ‘90s. It was basically identical, but I don’t think it had a patio.

Half the fun of drinking in the old dank places like that and the King Eddy was the rush you got from worrying that one of those homeless looking people might stab you.

Had some Good memories at Schanks on my 18th.
Played some pool, played some mini golf, drank everything from everyone I invited and almost got alcohol poisoning cause there was a different face going to the bar to get me the next drink so the bartender couldn’t cut me off.
Hope everyone enjoyed digging their golf ball out of hole #5. Cause according to my DD, that’s where I chose to puke in

I remember it was 2004ish, and myself (St. Louis Rams fan) and my brother (Cleveland Browns fan) found ourselves in an empty Shanks south for Monday Night Football, Rams vs Browns. Mike Richards was on the radio on Fan960 live out of the bar calling my brother "the only Browns fan in western Canada." Our waitress was hot, but terrible. The projector screen was enormous. We got drunk. The end.

Atlas Pizza is another sports pub/bar that's been around forever, at least since the 80's. There have been a couple renovations and decor changes over the years but thankfully, the pizza has always been the same.
I (barely) remember watching Mark McLoughlin kick the Grey Cup winning FG at Schanks North in 1998. That place must have been brand new at that time. I remember the place being full but it must have been somewhat subdued cause the first thing we did after winning was head down to 17th to slap some high 5's.

I loved going to The Holy St. Point and Feather on xmas eve. My other fave was the St. Louis. I've seen some stuff in that place. Once the toilet was shooting a stream of water out like a water snake fountain. I have always wondered what made it do that. I also saw the bartender get electrocuted once by spilling a beer on the junction box to the chicken fryer.

Loved going there for beer and beef ribs at lunch (when having a beer at lunch was normal). I remember the first time going in there. Waitress - "what would you like to drink". Me - "I'm going to have a beer", and before I could ask what they had, she was gone and brought back a plastic glass of "beer". I think they just had Molson Canadian on tap.

Reminds me of Mug Shotz. Every wing flavor known to man, and your choice of light colored beer or slightly darker colored beer.
