To continue on Carlin's train of thought - being happy to be _____ ethnicity is fine, go nuts. Being proud is not the same and should be reserved for accomplishments only.
McDavid is not sick. He was too afraid to show up for the greasecomp in case they put him in hardest shot and had to perform his 40mph muffin in front of everyone.
The only Coiler game I go to and not only does Lucic double his goal total, but also they win 7-2. Ugh.
Rogers Place is big, but feels sterile. Weird arena environment. The big dumb countdown to start the game was bad, the brass band was worse. This is a place designed to provide a show off the ice, because what is on it is not the least bit inspiring.
I have been to a game there as well, last year. There are a few things to like about the place, but the seating in the lower bowl sucks. Washrooms also suck. Glad they built their arena first, we can see how not to do it.
I've been to the arena a couple times and I agree that it's kinda sterile. It reminds me a little bit of Skydome in Toronto. It's big and clean and cavernous but it has no personality. Like Skydome, it was on the 'cutting edge' when built but it will be quickly surpassed by other arenas both old and new as the shine fades and the lack of character isn't there to replace it. I suspect in 10 years it will be looked upon like Skydome as well below it's peers. Unlike Skydome it won't see any championships.
