Don't know why Germany doesn't have a race any more. Hockenheim or the nurburgring are much better options than say Singapore or SA. If we cast geo political things aside I wish they bring the Chinese GP back. One of my favorite tracks.

Can't wait for the livery reveals.

Good article from Joe Pompliano (who has a really good newsletter) on the logistics of the F1 season.

https://huddleup.substack.com/p/the-...ics-of-formula

Quote:
the 2023 Formula 1 calendar includes 23 races across 20 countries on 5 continents in just 9 months. Races will be held in 10 different time zones, and drivers will at least spend 240 hours — or ten full days — on flights.

Formula 1 teams will transport 1,500 tons of equipment throughout the season and travel more than 75,000 thousand miles in total — enough distance to cover the entire circumference of the earth…three times.

I put it in the general racing thread as well.. But Jenson Button should be racing in the Nitro RX rally at the stampede grounds next weekend. We got a weekend pass...

It'll take a couple of seasons but if Haas can stabilize their sponsorship dollars they're going to climb the mid field real quick.

Also RB revealed their livery. I would post a picture but it is exactly the same as their livery for the past 5 years so there is no point really.

Bit late on getting this done...but if anyone has proposals for rule changes please let me know. I was going to stick with the artwork from last year as a prize.

I did bump the entry to $15, from $10. I truly hope that doesnt keep anyone out, but it does open up a bit more options.

** 2023 F1 Pool **
Rules
- Picks due FRIDAY midnight Calgary time. All picks must be submitted before qualifying and this is just an easy cut off. If your picks get posted Sunday morning at 5am...no bueno.
- Everyone gets 2 missed race weekends. After that you'll get NO ENTRIES for the rest of the races you miss entries. The missed race picks will be the picks from the week before. .
- 1 point for right pick in top 10, 4 points for correct slot, 1 extra point for correct slotted driver who gets fastest lap. No points for picks during Qualy Races, actual race only.

Prizes
- $15 Entry fee, open until race 4 weekend is complete. Send to Mullen1989@hotmail.com with your CP handle.
- Most Total Points...Overall Champ...Trophy & first pick of prizes
- Second Most Total Points...second prize choice
- Most Correct Picks...third prize choice !! (carry over of cufflinks from TimSJ 2021)

You do not have to pay to play in the pool, just if you want a crack at the Trophy and Prizes.

I'm kinda of hoping the Red Bull runs a Red Bull Green Edition sometime in 2026.

I'm in, looks good.

I don't have any issue with the rules but I've always thought picking/winning the pole should be worth something, both in pools and in the actual championship.

I don't get how none of the major race series are giving points for pole when so much effort is spent winning it.
