I didn’t have high expectations for the long road trip given what I had seen prior.
Flames will be a bubble team come next March. And that’s being optimistic.

Bottom third goals-for and bottom of the barrel goaltending is not a recipe for success (not talking about Vladars last 2 games)

Flat out this team is being coached, managed, goalied into oblivion right now. I believe both Sutter and Treliving are very good at their jobs - but both have been absolutely atrocious at their jobs to start this season.
Biggest problems facing the Flames right now?
1. Jacob Markstrom’s brutal play
2. Brad Treliving’s brutal roster management. Losing Valimaki for nothing while our defensive depth fell apart - picking Mackey over Valimaki was just dumb. Also, having a roster that night-in/night-out features 3 of Rooney, Lewis, Lucic and Ritchie is not acceptable depth.
3. Darryl Sutter - the team was off to a hot start, he shook up the lines and the team has been trash ever since. His lineup construction is pitiful. His player usage at various times of the game is grotesque.
I’ll say it again - if this team was actually playing who deserves to play, Phillips, Zary, and Pelletier would all be in the lineup while Lucic and Rooney wouldn’t be while one of Ritchie/Lewis would be the 13th forward.
They are not giving themselves a chance to win.
Tree and Sutter are better than this and need to be better.

I have not looked at stats but I would feel like that's because of their first 6 games where they averaged ~4 goals, I bet if you would look at the latest 15 games, they would be on the bottom. If a team lacks offense for 15 games maybe calling up a prospect or two would be a good idea

The problem is Huberdeau/Kadri are very good players to have when you have a legit #1C and they can be complimentary players instead of the main guys

Darryl going full GM Sutter as coach now.
3 minutes left, 4 on 4. Gives you the opportunity for a full 5 on 4 powerplay with icing still in effect, before the traditional last minute extra attacker.
Nope, let’s keep Vladar in net the full two minutes while we struggle to even gain the zone.
Hard to tell if he’s being purposely obtuse, or just falling behind the times. That’s a boneheaded coaching decision. Said by a fan that has been a huge fan of coach Sutter generally.

LMAO so what you’re saying is for us to play well, we need to play against lesser teams and can’t hang with the top quality teams, which are the teams we should be playing well against.
That basically means we’re a fringe playoff team or a non-playoff team altogether lol.

We do have that. Lindholm.
Forward skill and lineup construction is screwing the good parts that are here.

Mackey outplayed him for over a year and makes less money
Wasn't a shocking decision

Wranglers should be in the lineup if this team cares about winning hockey.
I really don’t care about all the BS.
This team needs an infusion of energy, speed and skill.
On top of this, there are at least 4 forwards who have earned a call up.
Do it Flames!

It was still the wrong decision, and this team makes a decent amount of those.

There is no reason to watch this team right now. They’re slow and boring. If they’re out of a playoff spot hopefully they start dumping some of these guys and call up younger players who are actually fun to watch.

Kadri and Lindholm were both ranked in the top 20 centres in the league this summer. I know it's subjective but we have a number one centre on this team.
What we don't have is a top 10 centre but only a third of the league has that (and the losers up north have two of them)
