In the interest of data collection for the future, having Lucic have a bit of success on that line is not a terrible thing.

At this point in his career Lucic is a pinch hitter, not an 82 game guy. Push the right buttons with him, then unleash him on that line in Game 5 of round 1 with the game tied.

There just isn't a fit yet on that line. But seeing Lucic have some short lived success there is not a bad thing.

There was a replay during the game that showed pretty clearly that Laine went down on his own; something like he turned too tightly which made him lose his balance. I was watching the ESPN feed so I'm not sure if it was shown on the SN feed.

Nothing actually tripped him, he's causes himself to fall and is already complaining/selling it before he hits the ice.
