BC is playing UMass today. Arnold opened the scoring with a PP goal 1:23 into the game.
The score is 1-1 early in the second.

hf article on Arnold:
http://www.hockeysfuture.com/article...ay-game-at-bc/
Quote:
The Needham, Mass native and Calgary Flames prospect has become a player that BC coach Jerry York can use and depend on in any situation. Arnold scored several big goals last season for BC. He scored the overtime game-winner in the Beanpot Tournament, then scored two goals, including the game-winner, to eliminate the University of Massachusetts in the first round of the Hockey East playoffs.
“Without any question Bill has become an extremely important player on our team, and he is becoming a player who can take over a game,” York said.
...
Although Arnold enjoys scoring the important goals to help his team win, he also prides himself on being a strong, two-way hockey player. Growing up in Boston gave him the opportunity to watch Selke winner, Patrice Bergeron. Bergeron is someone Arnold has modeled his own play around.
“I like him because he is a master of all trades, and his two-way play is something that I have taken pride of putting into my own game,” Arnold said of Bergeron. “You can put him into any situation, and he will get the job done. That is something I strive to do in my game.”
Arnold’s two-way style of play is also something that his coach has noticed.
“Bill is a two-way player that plays a high-end, strong, physical game,” York said. “He is just an honest player that can both score and defend.”
...
As a Flames prospect Arnold has had the opportunity to participate in a few of Calgary’s summer development camps. The camp is a little different than the college game, but often gives players a sense of what the professional style is about.
“You get to experience the pro style, and they treat it as a professional stage,” Arnold said. “The GM, coaches, and other staff members are at the camps, and the atmosphere allows you to get a taste of what it will be like down the road.”

Love how he tries to model his game after Bergeron.

me too, if he can be as good defensively and on draws as Bergeron while putting up a fraction of the offense we will have a mid-round steal IMO.

So Arnold is our Bergeron and Ferland is our Lucic? If they even come close to that I think we are going to be very lucky and happy Flames fans

I love how a solid amount of our prospects are doing substantially well. Bill Arnold recorded 3 points (1 goal, 2 assists) in the last two games. Glad to see him and Gaudreau playing together on the team, would love to see how well that could turn out if they were to play together on the same line when they make their way up to the Flames roster.

I think Righteous' line of thinking is that Johnny will make the top 10 (and top 3, and very likely win the thing) regardless of the fan vote. But we can help get Billy, or Jon Gillies, into the top 10, as they are much less of a shoo-in.

Brian Costello was on the Fan 960 talking about his Gaudreau write up.
Talked about Arnold a little bit.
THN has Arnold as one of the Flames top 10 prospects in their future watch.
Thinks Arnold will play in Abbotsford for one or two years than make a push to challenge for 3rd or 4th line forward.
Will most probably be a checking forward in the NhL.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s6Q1h5AMmBI probably already shared somewhere on these threads but couldn't help but put the BC game winning OT goal scored by Bill Arnold in the 2012 Bean Pot. Pretty nice snipe shot by Mr. Arnold into the net.

While Gaudreau is the clear favourite for the Hobey Baker, this article lists Arnold as #9 on it's Hobey Baker watch:

Burke says Flames will sign Bill Arnold:
Kristen Odland @KristenOdlandCH
According to #Flames GM Brian Burke, plan is to see how deep BC goes in NCAA tourney. But they will sign Bill Arnold (a senior).

Darrell Romuld (CTV) @CTVDarrell
I'm told Calgary Flames prospect Bill Arnold will report to the big club once his college team is eliminated.

I'm conflicted. Do I want BC to get eliminated so we can see Arnold/Gaudreau(?) or do I want them to go all the way?
Gah...

I don't care about Boston College winning. I mean its good for the players but next year when they have no Flames prospects they will go back to not existing in many of our minds.
