Default What is your Favorite Olympic Sport to Watch?

Some sports are a snooze fest to watch, not going to lie. But some of the events can be electrifying.

Unsurprisingly, my favorite event is the 100M sprint. 40+ km/h just running, wow.

Perhaps surprisingly, one of my favorite events is Men's Volleyball (non beach). It's so high pace, the athletes are beasts, and its wildly entertaining.

Honorable mention goes to the women's football tournament, especially when Canada does well.

What are some your favorite (or least favorite) Olympic events to watch?

Women's soccer?

I was happy that Canada won the other night, because Rapinoe is an insufferable human.

But outside of the penalty kick, the US goalie had to make one save. One.

And the Canadians still won the match. It was tense, but boring.

The lack of diving makes women's soccer, in limited cases, superior to the men's game. Olympics being one of those cases.

7's, those boys are monsters and their conditioning is amazing.

I also enjoy rowing/canoe/kayak.

Athletics/Track may be my favorite sport , period and certainly the Olympics is as good as it gets. Partial to the sprints, but I'll watch anything that's a race (and hence I suppose am also happy to watch swimming, rowing, cycling etc), and always trying to gain more appreciation on the field events too

have been lucky to be able to get back into this sport at a local level and a day at the track is always a happy day for me

I think if the Olympics were just Athletics, Swimming, Gymnastics and Rowing I'd still be a pretty happy guy, but I'll gladly watch anything

I like the sports with a tournament style to them- team sports etc- beach volleyball a good example this year- where you get to know the team(s) over a course of several days

For summer games I love Swimming and Track, actually I just love all of it…

Except Equestrian, I have never been able to get in to it and simply find myself bored watching it.

Middle-distance running (400m, 800m, 1500m) because that’s what I competed in when I was a kid and the performances of the athletes blow me away.

Paddling events. Love the power, speed, and shifting leads.

Track cycling. It’s like a sport from the future. I half expect jets of flame to shoot out of the track at competitors.

Shorter distance swimming is my favorite.

I do wished we got exposed to the non-conventional sports on TV, I may have a different opinion...who knows, I may love watching Archery.

I tend to prefer the events that are shorter duration. So most track and swimming. I like some of the cycling events.

I tend not to have the patience to watch most summer sports that have multiple athletes with multiple attempts each, especially if they're slow going thru their attempts. This doesn't apply as much to winter as I like bobsled, luge, skeleton, moguls, long track speed skating, all of which are turn based.

Anything with Canada participating I'll watch, especially as it gets towards the knockout or medal rounds.

I prefer winter olympics. They have less filler sports. Summer just has too many and a lot of them suck pretty bad.

Hello Dressage, we are looking at you

Also pistol shooting, I mean come on!

All Shooting events should include some type of running at least a rundown.

While I don't discount the athleticism, I've tried playing it and #### it is hard, I just can't get into it as a spectator.

Perhaps I just haven't seen the right match.

Water polo is exhausting just watching it. It looks so damn hard it is almost hard to fathom.

Archery is awesome! It is easy to understand and it is fast. They did 4 quarterfinals, 2 semifinals, bronze and gold in less than 3 hours.

Here is the womens bracket.

And scoring is so easy to understand. There are 5 sets of 3 arrows each. The person who wins the set gets 2 points, if the set is tied, each get a point.

If it is 5-5 after 5 sets. It is one arrow sudden death.

I love track cycling as it is what I competed in as a teenager plus there are still some people I know in the program.

Cant wait for the match sprints!

Just like shooting, it would be so much more enjoyable if there was a cardiovascular component

True but they measure heart rate in archery, it's already at 160!

For the summer Olympics, swimming & track. Preferably the shorter races for both, just pure speed and power.

I love how those are basically seen as the 2 primo Olympic sports around the world, and Canada has legit gold medal contenders in each of those. Makes it even more fun!

Swimming and gymnastics. Second week of the olympics is always less interesting because it’s mostly semis and finals of team sports plus some track stuff. There is some exceptions like the track sprints but overall second week of olympics is a letdown for me.
