Little Steven might be the coolest man on earth. He has a great underground radio show on Sirius.
https://www.undergroundgarage.com/
“Mind-blowingly great… Quite simply, Underground Garage is the most exciting thing to happen on rock and roll radio in years.” - Rolling Stone
"Stevie plays all the music you need to hear and gives young bands the chance they deserve." - Bruce Springsteen
“It’s the best Rock and Roll radio show in the world. Period.” - Billie Joe Armstrong
“It’s the first thing I listen to in the morning. It always sounds good late at night. One of my favorite things to do is listen to it on the way to band practice because I get inspired.” - Eddie Vedder

^^ I listen to Underground Garage a lot. at one point they used to describe the music they played as " Music that influenced the Ramones, Music Influenced by the Ramones, and the Ramones" that sounded good enough for me!
Little Steven and Los Lobos (separately) were the 2 opening acts when I saw the Original Joshua Tree tour in 1987

Los Lobos are such an underrated band. Had the pleasure of seeing them live once when they opened for the Hip in the mid-90s on the Another Roadside Attraction tour, and they were awesome. Just incredible musicianship in that band.

I’ve seen them more than any other band not from Calgary. Probably my second favorite band. David Hidalgo is a National Treasure.

This past two Saturdays repeat episodes were good flashbacks. The Dec. 5 repeat had Chris Hemsworth hosting and Chance the Rapper performing. Having Will Farrell do the opening was funny.
The Dec. 12 repeat had Kevin Hart hosting and Foo Fighters performing. Hart's monologue was excellent.

Saturday Night Live.....
Jim Carrey is finished as Joe Biden. I wonder who will play him next?

Quote:
Jim Carrey is moving on from his impersonation of President Elect Joe Biden on Saturday Night Live.
The Truman Show star has impersonated Biden on Saturday Night Live, since the show returned on October 4 for its 46th season. He has not appeared on the show for the last two weeks and revealed on social media that he is now passing on the baton.
“Though my term was only meant to be 6 weeks, I was thrilled to be elected as your SNL President… comedy’s highest call of duty. I would love to go forward knowing that Biden was the victor because I nailed that ####. But I am just one in a long line of proud, fighting SNL Bidens,” he tweeted.

FYI. the SNL Christmas special, which is a collection of old Christmas sketches is on Global tonight for anyone who missed it previously. So many funny sketches, and it's awesome seeing some of the old SNL cast.

Was pretty disappointed with Wiigs return. Laughed a few times, but it just wasn’t there overall. Seems like she’s lost the live rhythm a bit. She’s obviously had some work done on her face which is a shame because A) she was a stunner as is, and B) it seems to affect her facial expressions which is her whole thing. But I understand the pressures of Hollywood for a 40+ actress.

Yeah, it was a pretty forgettable episode. Ego's teacher sketch was the highlight for me.

The teacher sketch, Christmas morning song, and Weekend Update were great. The rest of the show was pretty sub-par.

I love when Che and Jost write jokes/headlines for each other. Those are always the best

These were the highlight probably. Host always gets the short end of the stick. There’s just nothing he can throw at Che that comes close to the incredibly racist things Che makes him say. Like a picture of Rosa Parks comes up and you just go “oh...oh no. Not Rosa!”
I think the new cast members have a long way to go. Maybe it’s usually like that at the beginning but I don’t think so. I remember when Aidy Bryant, Bobbi Moynihan and Kate MacKinnons early days and it was pretty obvious from the get-go that they were up to the challenge. Maybe others have taken some time to work in and be better, but I just don’t see it with those three new peeps. I thought they were just extras for a while.

The highlight of the season for me was the Bill Burr episode. I thought this week was not good. I do not like Bowen Yang. At all. Him and Kyle Mooney are sketch killers for me. They are both only play a single character type and that type is annoying as ####.
Ego has been fantastic this season and I want more of her. She is really funny.

Yeah there wasn’t and it was mostly character retreads (Excited Sue, Secret Word, etc) and they didn’t land like usual.
