Brian McGrattan had more points in his EIHL year.
The NHLPA players and league are very much an 'OBC' when it comes to giving players (and other league staff) continual positions within the league. Must be nice being a player like Stewart who seems to no longer be good enough for the league, only to be invited back and sign a contract that while probably league minimum, is more then lucrative for the rest of us working minions.

By all accounts he's a good guy too, so I can't really fault him for signing with the Flyers at that price.

I don't disagree with the premise here, but the only "chemistry" that janko and bennett have ever shown on ice was of the oil+water variety (that is to say, an absence of...) I would rather see bennett with Ryan-Mangi and leave Lucic on the 4th line.

Kadri would have looked great on this roster.

Seeing all of this Stewart news- I seem to remember stewart always being a flame killer. Given our luck so far this season I think we'll see him score a hatty on us or something ludicrous.

Putting it this way: if you had asked me 2 weeks ago if it were more likely Chris Stewart lights us up randomly in a game this season or Neal would get more goals in his first 5 games as an oiler than his entire time as a flame, I would have guessed Stewart.

Bennett-Jankowski-Czarnik were actually pretty good last season

Everyone's been down on the bottom 6 but I've liked what I've seen so far from Mangiapane and Czarnik

Mangiapane has looked decent quite a bit except for the frequency with which we find him scraping himself off the boards.

Looks exhausting

Good lord, Stewart wasn't even an NHLer when he got his cup of coffee with us two years ago. I'm afraid to see what he's like now.

Ya, Mangia has looked good when he isn't lying on the ice. He's sacrificing his body but not getting points to show for it, he isn't big enough to just brush it off like Hartnel was and it's going to take its toll on him. Unless he finds a way to move up to the top 6 and stay there, I don't think he'll have much of a future.

He will score 2 goals and get in a fight.

He will then proceed to score zero more goals for the remainder of the season.

Ugh here's hoping I make it past the first period tonight. Should be an easy two points but they will make it difficult on themselves

I’ve said for years that NHL schedule maker must be huge Oilers fan. They get all the advantages schedule wise.

They really should. Bennett wasn't horrible at C last game and at least his motor is running, which you need from the middle.

Don't worry, they're out of position enough that they do.

Such a simple, yet crucial change.

Jankowski just can’t play centre. But hey, this is what useless size gets you.

OK Janko, I want to see you with a ton of JUMP today after your healthy scratch. A shorthanded chance, and an assist.

If Bennett or Jankowski score today, I will donate $20 to CP.
