(I'm a pretty unhealthy guy today, so I have to use a rerun. My apologies)

When fighting tooth and nail for a playoff spot, the Preds must beware of the puppet practicing unlicensed veterinary dentistry:

Spoiler!

Go Flames

The score app suggesting Johnson to get the start. That can't be right, can it?

Elliott was terrific against the Capitals, I'd expect him to be back in. Can't speak for Gully, though.

I don't get it. Oh well.

Go Flames. I think I feel the most apathy towards the Preds. Hopefully Ferland is back, Lazar keeps up his point per game pace, Bennett pots a few, and the top line continues their
strong play!

He was great but I'd like to get Johnson rolling too, give Moose and break then start him in STL.

Also I'd be fine with a Johnson start. Can't run Elliott ragged and expect wonders in the playoffs.

I like this schedule going into the end of the season where the Flames play every other day. Hopefully the boys pickup a big 2 points in Nashville so I can stop worrying about playing the Hawks in the first round. Go Flames!

@NHLFlames

Micheal Ferland has rejoined the #Flames. He was quarantined for five days for precautionary reasons and is now symptom free. #CGYvsNSH

I get the "win and you're in" thing, but surely winning 10 straight is enough to offset one loss, especially when you stood on your head in that loss.

The win and you're in thing stopped a long time ago.

They are just trying to keep Chad fresh and not burn out Elliot.

If Johnson starts tonight, it is in no way a reflection of the coaching staff's lack of confidence in Elliott - it is all about managing his starts over these last nine games, so he is fresh going into the playoffs. Flames don't want to be like the No-Goods to the North and wear out their goalie before the playoffs start.

Also Elliott is reaching is career high in games played. I would much rather have a rested Moose for a tough 1st round.

This isn't a Talbot situation where Elliott has played most of the season. I see no reason to give him rest unless he's battling minor injuries or fatigue. Johnson was horrible against the Bruins and this game has some importance in playoff positioning as a Preds win could close the gap and a rested Elliott isn't going to make much of a difference if the Flames end up finishing 8th and face the Hawks in the first round. Go for the big win to keep the Preds at distance don't leave it to chance with a guy that hasn't played much lately and was poor in his last outing.

Need to stay ahead of Preds to avoid Chicago in round one. Obviously would like to move up with n the standings too. Pretty important game.

Also, the score app (expected) is very unreliable

If the goal is to avoid Chicago in the first round, I start Elliott against both Nashville and St. Louis. Give Johnson the start against Colorado on Monday.

If we're trying to keep Elliott well rested and not burnt out for the playoffs, I think this is a good move. However, I hope Chad can rebound from his last ugly game vs Boston. We need the points.
