I thought I'd jump in with some reasoning.

Sean Walker put up zero points in the games he played before blowing out his MCL and being done for the season. He is essentially a rental. Fleury on the other hand still has a lot to show, and should get a long leash as a former 7th overall that is still maturing.

Allen for Binnington is moving from 81OVR to 83OVR and (other than Fleury) a 5th to add a little capital. The thinking was Fleury and the late pick to make up the two point jump.

As always, if this slants to 'no', the thoughts are appreciated.

Seems like LA is getting a nice upgrade in net for basically a 5th.

LA probably should add another pick like a 2nd or 3rd or a decent prospect maybe?

I don’t think the value is that egregiously off to vote a no on. I do think that the Kings win this trade thoughz

I voted yes but the deal does slant a bit more to LA. Not enough to vote no for me though.

I was going to say it's close but I think Binningtin should be a nice asset next year too if LAK felt like they can handle the grid.

Yes. It's close and certainly not a rip off.

I think there's a winner to that trade but there is to all of them and as a league we need some trades that are like that.

I'm fine with it

I did vote no, its not horrible im just looking at the upside of Binnington to the declining of Allen and i dont think the adders are enough. If it passes id be ok with it.

The best trades are ones where both teams benefit. It looked to me like Ottawa's benefit was certainly delayed here. It's a pretty even vote (and I've not voted myself) and if a nudge is needed, that's fine.

How much is a nudge? I have 2 2023 5ths, and I could drop both of them instead of one. Where is the line in people's minds?

As for Bagopucks question on re-signing, I'm actually wondering if he will put up too good of a season this year, and price himself out. This is a very mercurial goaltender, and dropping 6M-7M could be an anchor.

As an aside, adding Crosby has made my team play the two best defensive games of the season. I don't get it.

I voted no as I see Binnington as a probably starter going forward where I see Allen as a probably back-up. Comes down to that.

I think a better prospect other than Fleury (not really a prospect but you get my point) would get this over the line.

I don't see how Ottawa trading a #1 goalie for a deal that includes a back-up as the main piece helps them. Particularly as one of the most asset poor franchises in the league.

Hintz requires back surgery, I’m to traumatized to comment

There’s a fine line between starter and backup, one minute you’re running Fleury out of town the next you are on waivers

There is no elite goalie in the NHL right now and the difference between starter and backup is opportunity and making the most of the once you get one
