I'm hoping Bianca and her team are just erring on the side of caution right now and that her knee is not still giving her issues. I have to think she wants to defend her US Open title and the warm-up tourney just prior is not all that important (put it this way, everybody will be shaking off the same amount of rust).

I don't think the US Open is a slam dunk for Djoker. Yes no Nadal, Wawrinka (his biggest threat) or Fed BUT Thiem looks good and will be the #2 seed plus you have Medvedev and Tsitsipas in the mix. I'd put his chances at winning the US Open at 51% right now.
The French Open all comes down to the draw. Let's face it there are only 3 players who could win the French this year, Nadal, Thiem or Djokovic. Whichever side of the draw Thiem ends up on , the other player will have a much easier path to the finals. If Nadal has to play Thiem and Djokovic back to back I don't like his chances. Who knows as well, maybe the French Open doesn't even get played?
