Tried the double M burger for lunch ($11) and it’s decent
Usual toppings (shredded Romane lettuce, tomato, red onion and pickles) and their “M sauce” is a sour mayo based sauce. It felt a bit basic. The cheese was disappointing as they used American cheese (as seen in the photo). Given this is supposed to be a higher end steakhouse, I figured they would use real cheese.
The patties was good but by default, they cooked the patties medium rare for my burger. I never asked for it so I’ll assume they do this for all their orders. While this might make for a tastier burger, in a time where the public is rightfully paranoid about cleanliness, I don’t think this is a smart thing for the cook to do.
All in all, a decent burger. But a bit disappointing that there wasn’t more “cheffy” twists to the burger
Here’s their menu:

That tomato looks way to big.
Are they allowed, in Alberta, to not fully cook a burger? Particularly without any warnings. Maybe the cook just screwed up.

As long as the meat is prepared in house.

Medium rare burger via delivery. Sounds like a good way to die. I never understood medium burgers in generally really. It's just ends up being a mushy paste in the middle of the cooked burger portion. I've tried it a few times and fully cooked burgers are just so much better.

Is it just me or is that an awful looking burger for $11?

It looks ok to me. $11 doesn't get you much these days in terms of a restaurant burger.

It’s a photo of a real take out burger. It’s going to look much different than studio created burgers you see on their marketing.
With that said though, it tastes more disappointing than it looks.
Here’s their Facebook photo of their burger

The ability to take a realistic bite of a hamburger has really become a lost consideration in these times.

In Canada, no. Though I blame the rule in place because of the dangers in the low quality of beef in frozen patties
Quote:
According to chefs, the fault lies with a product completely removed from the traditional, fresh-ground beef patty they learned to make in culinary school: The frozen, heavily spiced, pre-packaged hamburger “hockey puck.” Hardly the product of a single ground-up steak, these patties are packed with a wide array of beef leftovers ranging from gristle to sinew to intestines, the incubators for E. coli. A single patty can contain fragments of hundreds of cows, raised on feedlots thousands of kilometres apart. “It has increased the risk of contamination greatly over the years,” said Mr. Noussitou. Even the most die-hard fan of medium-rare burgers avoids eating frozen patties at anything less than well-done. “I would never want to eat a frozen hamburger patty medium rare because I just don’t know the providence of the meat,” said Mr. Belcham.

Yeah it’s the slice end and it’s also not sitting flat as the pickles under it gave the look that it was bigger than what it really was.

Got my beer delivery from The Establishment yesterday. Super seamless. I encourage everyone who has the available resources to support local businesses where you can. It was a Cabin Brewery guy doing the deliveries, it is great to see these guys helping each other out.
ID was checked through a glass door and the beer was left on the doorstep.

Same for OT Brewing. I believe the owner lives on the west side of town. We paid on-line and had the delivery completed in minutes! (No guarantee on the speed, as we happened to live nearby, but still.) Support the locals!

If anyone likes Greek food and lives in the center of the city, you should check out Calypso's Taverna. They're offering Pickup, Delivery and are on Skip the Dishes. They're a small, family run business and could use some customers right now. 10% off on pickup orders.

I ordered some meals from forkandfarmcatering.com. They say each meal is for 2 people but it goes for about 3. It's gourmet class and beautiful delivery. They post more on instagram, so they were doing a chicken dinner for $60. Highly recommend. We order out a lot from skip, so this was a nice change.
