We've never had problems finding a beer to our liking at most of the places but generally only one or maybe two at the most.
Prairie Dog, Citizen, and Railyard are probably our top three so far as they seemed to have more to offer our tastes. Cabin was good but heavy on the IPA style beers so the selection was very limited for our taste.
Maybe some of it is seasonal and once summer rolls around there will be more of the 'lighter' varieties that go great with hot weather. By lighter I mean not a heavy and/or hoppy brew.
Overall we are really enjoying trying out all the places. I just wish they all were not in the NE or SE which is opposite side of town for us.

IPAs and hoppy beers are the easiest to make so thats why they are common on the taps at local breweries. The hope is as a brewery gets their feet under them and gets older they can venture into other styles.
I had an absolutely fantastic Pear Saison from bellyhop brewing in Red Deer on the weekend. Might be my new favorite.

For those that want something different than a lot of IPAs- give New Level a try. Most of what they have is good- and there’s always something new. Sometimes it just a slight variation; other times something brand new.

There aren't many industrial areas suitable for breweries in the NW or SW!
Most of the good breweries are barely SE though.

Very true. The price we pay for living in the desirable part of town.

Hubtown Brewery in Okotoks has some good tasting beers. We've taken our kids in to play games while they drank Butterbeer and have bought a few different brews to take home and enjoy.

They're also ridiculously popular, which helps.

I recently visited a brewery that only makes lagers. In world over saturated with IPAs I thought this was a great concept.

Annex and some local distilleries are going to start making hand sanitizer. Lemons into lemonade, I appreciate the efforts that a lot of small businesses are making to help out.

I read about this, how does one go about getting some hand sanitizer from these guys? And if it were to come with some whiskey that would also be manageable.
I'd like to support this especially as having hand sanitizer in my office at the moment would be quite handy.

Any new information on how to get some of this?

Had an interesting experience with Citizen Brewing.
Picked up some Batch 1 Session Ale from Citizen brewing, and it is absolutely delicious!
But also picked up their ‘Belma And Louise’ New England Pale Ale and it was absolutely terrible. To the point I wonder if something was wrong with the batch.

You could always let them know by email or whatever, most brewers I have talked to want to know about potentially off beers. If there was something wrong, better than even odds they will replace it.

I made a beer with Belma hops before. It was supposed to impart strawberries and melon flavour, but it just tasted like old fruit.
Didn't care for it at all.
