Interesting comments from Phil Spencer, looks like Xbox will put gamepass on any open platform. Right now that includes PC and mobile. It also means any device that allows streaming.

Playing Hades on my laptop at work has been great.

There are a couple good size drops for PS5 happening this week on Best Buy, Amazon and one other. Seems like they are not filing back orders yet and just moving the product which seems stupid.

I am following him on Twitter, my question was more if inventory was being shipped to brick and mortar stores or if everything was exclusively online?

Walmart, Costco, and Best Buy have been exclusively online.

I think The Source, EBGames/Gamestop, have received some physical but believe they might have in-store waitlists/pre-orders so maybe not first-come first serve.

Shoppers Drug Mart might be the only place that got PS5 stock in that wasn't assigned to pre-orders, and that was months ago and think their recent re-stocks have all been online only.

Crazy thing is it's mostly demand.

PS5 is still the fastest selling console ever, so it's not like it has less supply than the PS4 or PS3 did and those consoles were probably more readily available 10 month into their life cycle than the PS5 is.

It's just that gaming is probably more popular than ever and they can't make them fast enough.

I wonder how much Covid helped with the demand. More gaming at home as oppose to going out.

This was the reasoning behind my quick trigger. I knew everyone would have to find thing at home to do. Bought the PS5 and a sick new OLED LG as my whole entertainment budget for the year. Well, plus games and streaming services.

I had 3 PS5's on day one and the preorder seemed to be super easy

2 amazon and 1 source

(sold them for retail plus beers)

Yep I sent active preorder pages to a few buddies on that first day and heard a couple “I’ll just hold off til April when you can get one anywhere” … and here we are.

I also thought I would wait because I didn't really play much at the time. I wanted to get one before the Christmas rush, and with the whole shortage/new model I figured I better get on it.

Yeah I never really understood this, aside from someone wanting to walk into a store to buy one I was able to pre order day 1 no issues, got one of each model and have been able to pre order almost every time a new batch comes in, I actually let the last best buy hold I had expire because my friend didn't want it.
