I think I've died (or more correctly, failed to avoid the EMMI and got one-shot) more in Metroid Dread than any metroidvania game I've played. This is not necessarily a bad thing thanks to the checkpoint system, but it does start to get tiring. I'm not a great stealth player.

So far I've found being a fast runner is better than trying to hide. Pause, look at the map, and figure out where you are trying to go.

Well guess I know what my evening plans are (Calling every shoppers drug mart)
Just order online man, even right now EB Games has both model in stock. Best Buy has the white available. These things aren't nearly as crazy as the PS5/XSX.

Was able to find one at Shoppers close to home. It's not about having one...I could have grabbed one on the weekend easily. It's about getting it at Shoppers Drug Mart.
I have a ton of Optimum points, so I was able to redeem 200k Optimum points to get $300 off. Plus I had a 20x the points coupon to redeem on the purchase too, so I got 50k points back on the portion I paid cash ($150).
So for $150, and what works out to 150k Optimum Points (200k minus the 50k I got back) I was able to get the Switch OLED.
Collecting Optimum points is the best way to get new games and consoles if you can find them in-store and have a 20x the points coupon.

Just a heads up too. Normal point redemption is like 200,000 points for $200. During bonus redemption days (such as this weekend and today) you can do 200,000 for $300. So people generally wait for such deals.
Very rarely like for Black Friday it has been 250,000 for $400. Who knows if they'll have any PS5's, XXX or OLED Switches then though.
Have to say I’m pretty impressed with the screen so far.
Only really started transferring data and played a little bit of Tetris Effect (how can you not try that game with the blacks and contrast of an OLED) and it’s pretty remarkable how the OLED provides so much more depth and contrast without any resolution bump.
Even just the details in the game icons seems to pop a little more.
Makes me really have to start looking at an OLED TV now I think.

I didn't bother trying to transfer data - I just redownloaded things. Take a while to do it all but it was fine with the cloud saves too.
Oh heck yeah, OLED TV's are the way to go unless your home theatre room is super bright for some reason or if you keep the TV on a single channel for 12 hours a day.
LG has a sale on their C1's I think currently at most stores.
Mine showed up yesterday and it's fantastic, with that screen it might as well be a whole new system. If you play your Switch a lot, and primarily use it handheld (this is me) I'd almost call it an essential upgrade. Especially when you can trade in your old one and get this for $150 or whatever.
My Metroid special edition is finally showing up today too so can't wait to try that tonight!

My daughter is turning 8 in December. I'm thinking about getting her a switch as we have some Christmas travel coming up. Would the lite be okay? I just don't see her hooking it up to the TV at all. Although, I kind of like the idea of playing Mario cart on the big screen...

Honestly if you personally are planning on playing it too I’d say no. You’ll get it and immediately want to hook it up to a TV.
If it’s strictly for your daughter then yes.

If there's even a remote chance you'll want to do this, buy the regular switch. It's insane how many hours my wife and I have burned up playing Mario Cart. TONS of fun. I really wished they'd release another one or at least have DLC for new courses.
