I hate to be the one to defend anything in this thread, but since most people here in Sweden rarely get to see NHL players in the flesh it's not so bad to pay a bit of cash to see the Devils practice. That entrance fee should be immediately cancelled out and refunded for having to suffer through an Oilers "practice" though, so really it should be a total cost of 0 SEK.

For example, he hasn’t traded a core player in a lopsided one-for-one, he resisted the urge to sell defenseman Oscar Klefbom at his lowest value, he held on to the No. 10 overall pick and hopefully strengthened the defense long-term, and he didn’t sign any ridiculous contracts in free agency. Progress is progress.

Connor McDavid fell in his lap. He didn't have to try hard for that one. The Stanley Cup in Boston may earn you some job security, but he traded away Tyler Seguin for vastly under value. Comes to Edmonton, and trades away Hall for Larsson, (vast downgrade) and Eberle for Strome (lateral move, at best). He lands the oilers in near cap jail, and the only thing he has managed to do is somehow make them worse, year after year. It is truly quite entertaining to watch as a flames fan. From a business perspective, if I were Oilers ownership, I would want him gone before he continues putting more holes in an already sinking ship.
