"Same Crap, Less Cap" was a year too early. This is the season where the lack of cap space is really going to hit them.

We're just prescient. You know seeing the obvious problems with what they're doing, which just underlines how blind the Oilers are

Not the way to sell the game, if the NHL knows and is okay with this, that is a problem.

New thread title until Chia gets fired. Honestly surprising that he still has his job.

Here's a good poke
10 People Who Need To Be Better
Quote:
2. Todd McLellan, Edmonton Oilers — This spot could easily be filled McLellan or general manager Peter Chiarelli, but in fairness to Chilarelli, he has already showed signs that he might be doing better this year. For example, he hasn’t traded a core player in a lopsided one-for-one, he resisted the urge to sell defenseman Oscar Klefbom at his lowest value, he held on to the No. 10 overall pick and hopefully strengthened the defense long-term, and he didn’t sign any ridiculous contracts in free agency. Progress is progress.

Also mentions the Brodie / Hamonic pairing and Brian Elliott

He won a Stanley cup and drafted McDavid. Those two things will keep him employed for a long time.

Life seems so uncertain at times, but it's nice to know that there is always the constant joy of an "Edmonton is No Good" thread.

Connor McDavid fell in his lap. He didn't have to try hard for that one. The Stanley Cup in Boston may earn you some job security, but he traded away Tyler Seguin for vastly under value. Comes to Edmonton, and trades away Hall for Larsson, (vast downgrade) and Eberle for Strome (lateral move, at best). He lands the oilers in near cap jail, and the only thing he has managed to do is somehow make them worse, year after year. It is truly quite entertaining to watch as a flames fan. From a business perspective, if I were Oilers ownership, I would want him gone before he continues putting more holes in an already sinking ship.

Scoring Winger

Weighted career highs
CALGARY / EDMONTON
MONAHAN 34 GOALS / McDAVID 41 GOALS
TKACHUK 29 GOALS / NUGENT-HOPKINS 32 GOALS
NEAL 29 GOALS / LUCIC 31 GOALS
GAUDREAU 25 GOALS / DRAISAITL 29 GOALS
BACKLUND 22 GOALS / RATTIE 29 GOALS
FROLÍK 19 GOALS / BRODZIAK 22 GOALS
JANKOWSKI 19 GOALS / STROME 17 GOALS
LINDHOLM 16 GOALS / CAGGIULA 16 GOALS
RYAN 15 GOALS / KASSIAN 16 GOALS
BENNETT 13 GOALS / PULJUJÄRVI 15 GOALS
CZARNIK 08 GOALS / RIEDER 13 GOALS
LAZAR 07 GOALS / KHAIRA 13 GOALS
HATHAWAY 06 GOALS / ĹBERG 10 GOALS
GIORDANO 21 GOALS / KLEFBOM 12 GOALS
BRODIE 11 GOALS / NURSE 09 GOALS
HANIFIN 10 GOALS / RUSSELL 08 GOALS
STONE 09 GOALS / BENNING 07 GOALS
HAMONIC 06 GOALS / LARSSON 05 GOALS
PROUT 03 GOALS / JEŘÁBEK 05 GOALS
KULAK 02 GOALS / GRAVEL 02 GOALS
OFFENSE 242 / 284
DEFENSE 62 / 48
TOTAL 304 / 332
You can see why they are deceived up north - but when comparing current potential, the advantage flips, for example, I can't see Lucic or Rattie getting anywhere near those numbers - meanwhile, all the Flames can reach their career highs and even surpass them.

Creepy "Hunter" creeps up on women. Then proceeds to throw his tire into traffic, which they have to cut/edit becuase it probably hit a car. Well done Edmonton!
